Madri Haveli is located in a quiet but central street very close to all the main attractions which include the beautiful lake Pichola, the City Palace and some great shops selling footware at amazing prices plus textiles e.t.c. The management and staff were very helpful and our taxi driver called the hotel when we arrived so that the staff came to the taxi to collect our luggage for us. So do ask your driver to call. This is not the Lake Palace: it is a traditional family-run hotel, with comfortable rooms, strong hot showers and good beds, set back from the lake (so you get breakfast views of the City Palace but not the lake), in a quiet area of Udaipur, yet still within easy reach of anywhere you'd wish to go. The staff were excellent, booking cars, sorting out ATM problems, and finding extra rugs in very chilly winter weather. Nice hotel. Smallish room. Only issue was I booked online for a twin and they gave us a double. So we had to get a single mattress to put on the floor. Since the room was not very big it became cramped. They should not offer twin as an option if they can't guarantee it.

The classic property in best price and located in best place.

Lovely hotel, although a little pricier than others around. I could have done with a balcony and/ or a lake view for the price. Room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, restaurant was lovely with a rooftop terrace overlooking the lake. I had to stay 2 nights instead of the 3 that I booked due to the large distance I had to travel. The hotel wouldn’t refund the third night which I thought was quite inflexible.

I have been traveling for over 40 years and have stayed at thousands of hotels and I would rank this property as 1 of a kind and not to be missed if you are in Udipur - - - it is best by far the best in the area. The rooms with a lake/city view are well worth the extra cost and are an experience that you will always remember. DON'T MISS A LIFE EXPERIENCE ON THIS PROPERTY. The property was in an excellent location. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay. We ate at both in-house restaurants and the food was fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this lovely heritage hotel. The staff were all very professional and the meals were all amazing. Mr Singh was very helpful and attentive, he personally gave us a walking tour of the local village, lake and showed us around hotel explaining the rich history. It was a lovely peaceful stay and we would definitely recommend it. 😁
