I chose Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, because I feel at home in the Dominican Republic. However, my stay included serious issues that ruined the trip. Before arriving, I emailed the hotel requesting that my sister be placed in the same building near where my husband and I would stay same building, Instead, a staff member swapped our reservations: I was told I was traveling as a one guest and my husband would have to pay $200 USD per day to stay. While my sister was given the rooms we reserved and we received hers—this was humiliating and caused major stress. To make it worse, my sister were moved to another building far away. On top of that, I prepaid for a dinner reservation at their Montserrat Restaurant, but at checkout they attempted to charge me again ($240 USD). Because of these problems, this vacation was the worst of my life, and my husband and I will not return to Hard Rock Punta Cana. Advice for other travelers. If you are booking Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, I’m not going to say “never go.” Many people enjoy their stay. But based on my experience, I strongly recommend you take extra precautions to protect yourself: keep proof.* Save all emails and messages where you request special arrangements. The reservation confusion and the billing issues overshadowed everything. For me and my family, the stress and humiliation were far more memorable than the resort itself.
