when we arrived to the property we were told they did not have any rooms available even though we booked our room January 2023 and our stay was June 2023 (5 months in advance). They sent us to the partner hotel Riu Palace Bavaro which was a cheaper hotel compared to Riu Palace Punta Cana. We did not have another choice but accept it. They told us they were going to give us a pool view room, but when we got to the new hotel they did not have that option. Rooms in RIU Palace Bavaro were very old and not too clean. the property needs a major make over. Food was ok the Buffet was better that many of the special restaurants. The pool service people were amazing very friendly and attentive. the waiters at the buffet were amazing as well. Michael by the pool was the best, Anny and G at the buffet were amazing as well.

Hi I stayed at Riu with my daughter and it was an amazing experience, staff was nice and place was clean. I think they can look at few things. Better pillows please, no smoking is another thing because this is a family friendly resort and if your kid has health issue this will not be good. Also need ATM. Otherwise everything was great.

Property only has 2 bathrooms. 1 bathroom by the party pool. Zero by the beach or the 2 other pools. Alot of walking to get to the bathroom from the beach and other family pool. Other bathroom is on the opposite side of the lobby where you hangout and the Sports bar. Have to leave the bar and walk like 300ft or so to get to the bathroom. So inconvenient. If you can get past the bathroom thing. The place is gorgeous and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Entertainment is Zero! Horrible. They should have a shuttle to get to the splash park which is a good 10-15 minute walk from the resort. No ATM machines to get more money. Beach is not private so you deal with the vendors all day.
