As a travel coordinator, I recently arranged a stay at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico for one of my clients, and I’m pleased to share their positive experience.
The resort’s location is truly exceptional—perched above the coastline with sweeping views of the Caribbean and Atlantic. My client especially appreciated the access to Palomino Island, a private retreat that offered tranquility, clean beaches, and a refreshing escape from the mainland bustle.

The room was very clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped, with additional amenities available from reception - the outdoor shower for sandy feet and hammocks in communal areas were also a welcome addition. We didn’t have breakfast, but it sounded good - however, the Guesthouse is located just a short walk from all the restaurants as well as a grocery store. More importantly, it is also literally minutes from some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches we have ever seen! It is also...

We arrived at hix, to a room we had paid £200 a night for, to the room looking nothing like the website. I had booked it 3 months in advance and was very excited, we’d booked for 5 nights
The room was dark and the lights that did work were cold, the shower and toilet room was really dire and quite frankly looked like a prison, it looked like the room hadn’t had a lick of paint and update since the build. And the website photos show it from 20 years ago, the website does not show the reality...

The staff on the grounds are incredibly warm and friendly. Yes the rooms are small (be sure you are comfortable with you’re comfortable with your friend/partner), but it is built on an ecologically friendly model from containers and locally owned. There are some issues with humidity as its located in/next to the rainforest, but that’s to be expected
