The Grand Pavilion was a standout—offering an astonishing spread of over 200 dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s a dream come true for any food enthusiast. We also indulged in the refined flavors of Dum Pukht and Peshawri, and enjoyed the relaxed ambiance of the Tea Lounge. All of these are located within ITC Sonar, which is conveniently connected to Royal Bengal via an internal corridor. Another highlight was the guest lounge, open from 6 to 8 PM. It’s a cozy spot to unwind with complimentary drinks and a selection of finger foods—perfect for a pre-dinner hangout or a casual evening chat. "This a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths, real crystal wine glasses, antique furniture. The staff is well trained and eager to please. The breakfast that was included provided a nice array of choices that were well prepared."

"I really was impressed with the JW. The rooms were new, beds comfortable, service was great in most areas like the breakfast area and the concierge. Very helpful and smooth business stay. Just the bar was lacking in service. Great place to stay in Kolkata. 25 min from the airport. My driver Ranjun was great and drove me around to various appointments for the day. He was excellent."
