I travel for around 3 months each year and stay in a lot of five star hotels during my trips. The Datai Langkawi provided a very special experience indeed. From the amazing breakfast buffet, the landscaping, to the tours with the in-house naturalist, the Datai had it all!

We had a great stay in April. We used the beach villa which was very comfortable for our family of four.

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights. The hotel features in the World Boutique Hotel Awards Collection 2015 and rightly so. With 11 beautiful bedrooms, library, roof terrace, stylish traditional design and friendly staff who make every effort made to accommodate customers exacting requirements this as good as it gets. Just don't expect an olympic sized swimming pool, gymnasium and conference facilities.

We enjoyed a great week at this hotel. The hotel provides 5 star luxury accommodation in an excellent location a few minutes away from Jonker Walk. Service is impeccable and always with a smile. We could not fault the staff - they were all wonderful, particularly Yin, Nana, Salawatin and Ayro.

The E&O is a the perfect hotel for a relaxing break, this was our second visit and it didn't disappoint, The staff make this hotel what it is, nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely clean villa with attention to detail. All staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating. Breakfast was enjoyable every morning. The General feel of the villa was relaxing and calm. Would highly recommend the experience.

Stayed in the Spa Villas which are situated over the sea. Had use of the swimming pool in the Spa Village which was less used than the main pool so always felt like we had the pool to ourselves. Often felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves because it was so spread out. Would recommend for a relaxing stay. There is not a lot to do. Restaurants are very expensive but food quality in Uncle Lim's was very good. A lot of staff everywhere to look after us. Spa treatments also very expensive...

We tried the signature picnic experience the hotel offered and so glad we did! It included a VIP tour of the local tea plantation and factory including a tasting session and then a private picnic with a personal butler amongst the tea overlooking the plantation. We can not recommend this enough and it is worth the money!!

We've just returned from 3 weeks travelling to KL, Bali & Borneo, Gaya Island Resort was our last hotel and we had definitely saved the best till last! The hotel was so welcoming and brilliant from when we first stepped off the speed boat to when we stepped back on it to return to the mainland 4 days later. It’s a unique experience to stay in an antique Malaysian home brought into 21st century comfort. Staff here are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is the best we had on the island & the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. This is a really special place & if you want to get away from impersonal, standard hotel environments this is the place for you. We stayed in Black Coral & the room was beautifully furnished, stylish & comfortable.

it is a very good hotel and a very good location for visiting the old town which is a UNESCO heritage site.

I was on a business trip to Penang, and decided to stay at the Lone Pine for a long weekend's relaxation. This was a very good decision! I knew it was going to be good from the moment I arrived. The reception staff greeted me warmly, and had all my details ready on a little clipboard. Excellent and quirky hotel , would stay there again

I went in April 2016 and it was very quiet so felt like we had the resort to ourselves. I had an ocean hut which was stunning - complete with a deck and stairs leading to the ocean. A breakfast boat delivered our breakfast every morning. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Free snorkelling and kayaking, free boat to the mainland twice a day, and also to the sister resort (bunga raya) which has an amazing beach, restaurants and infinity pool. Helpful staff. Very clean room and wonderful comfy beds. Short walk to centre and not noisy.
