Located just far enough out of Colombo to be quiet, yet can easily walk to Galle Face Green if you wish. The hotel is clean and staff are great. Plenty food and beverage options at reasonable prices or try Galle Road for street food. Take the free shuttle to the beach lounge for a swim in the sea or just relax on the sea front. The roof pool is busier than the beach lounge but still always room available. High Tea was very good and the Tides buffet was super.

We stayed at the aathma at the beginning and end of our trip, the king suite with balcony first and the deluxe suite in the main building last, both rooms are of a very high standard and we throughly enjoyed our stay. For a mere £84 we stayed in this lovely, comfortable hotel in Colombo. The friendliest welcome with a refreshing Popsicle followed by helpful advice about getting around the city. We didn't eat dinner there as that evening was a wonderful play procession just round the corner but breakfast was delicious. We hope to return for more than one night

The hotel was just what we needed after arriving in Colombo and we stayed again the night before we left. The pool and rooftop bar have amazing views as well as the rooms. Breakfast is great but quite expensive, as are the snacks in the rooftop bar. Our favourite meal was a la carte lunch which was really good value.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel.The staff were so attentive and smiled continually throughout our time there.We could not have asked for more.We also ate supper in the restaurant and believe that the meal was by far the best we had whilst in Sri Lanka.If / when we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay there again.

My family are Sri Lankan and what struck me was the ridiculous prices for Tuk Tuks outside the hotel, one offered a ride for 1,000 rupees, but reduced to 800 when i laughed. The ride if you walked to the main road and grabbed one would be 300 to 500. So that annoyed me. The food choice for breakfast was somewhat disappointing. They do not serve full English or even half English.
