"We stayed at the Bahía Coba resort which is basic tier of the resorts. The beds were very stiff and the buffet food was decent. Although, there was little communication on how to book the private restaurants for the week that we stayed."

"The staff was amazing - cleaning, restocking the mini bar, wait staff, activities people, transport drivers - courteous, eager to please. We took a tour and a mini Spanish lesson with Ximena. She was knowledgeable, charming and went at our pace. AND the food! Wow. Tons of choice, all excellent. I liked how they had the pools divided according to who was using them - kids, party people, quieter people. Smart. Many loungers available everywhere, esp the beach. Loved having the market on site, bicycle tours on site. Loved the transport system. The only drawback was the ocean. The sargassum is piled up on the beach and stinks. We found an article that said it absorbs heavy metals. We felt congested when we were near it. It's in the water, too. We were there in March and the water was rough (red flags the whole week) and knocked you around and off your feet. The waves and the sargassum made it difficult to navigate the coral bottom which was hazardous even with water shoes. Guest services staff should continue to learn English and the computer systems eg booking meals at each of associate resorts"

"Stayed March 1-11, 2026 The beach was terrible with sargassum never seen before. I realize this is a natural phenomenon but no effort was made to reduce it. The Sargassum started to rot making a smell so bad it permeated most of the resort. Bathrooms needed upgrading. Staff amazing. Pool areas wonderful. If you are a “beach” person stay away…..if you are a pool person it’s good. "

"This was our 3rd year in a row staying here. Many changes have occurred since new ownership took over. None are for the better. Food is not as good as in the past . Upper shelf drinks in the bars are no longer available. Couldn’t even get a kahlua drink! They said they were out of stock. Weeds in the water are getting worse. No alcohol in room refrigerator either……just beer. Other than the front desk lying to me several times during check-in, I eventually got my way for room choice. All of the other staff members and employees were wonderful. Many of them were really concerned about losing their jobs under the new ownership. This is still a beautiful place but not the same luxury as in the past."

"Pool was nice a little cool but you got used to it. We’re more beach people so we spent most of our time there. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Claudia,Isabelle, Yeplady (?) and Eduardo??, (not sure of the last two’s names sorry) went above and beyond! Rooms were well cleaned daily. Food was great!"
