"I really loved the personalised service provided by the owner as it is a family owned hotel and they go above and beyond to make you feel like you're at home. Nice food for breakfast, the owner even took us into the city and assisted us during our stay. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and air conditioned. It was a nicely located property and a very friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here only during my future trips. They also accomodated a late...

ITC Royal Bengal, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kolkata
10/10 Excellent
"Our recent stay at the ITC Royal Bengal was nothing short of exceptional. We booked a two-bedroom serviced residence, which turned out to be the ideal setup for our family of four. The apartment was spacious, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Daily housekeeping was top-notch, and any request we made was met with prompt and courteous service.
What truly elevated our experience was the culinary journey across ITC Royal Bengal and the adjoining ITC Sonar. The Grand Pavilion was a standout—offering an astonishing spread of over 200 dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s a dream come true for any food enthusiast. We also indulged in the refined flavors of Dum Pukht and Peshawri, and enjoyed the relaxed ambiance of the Tea Lounge. All of these are located within ITC Sonar, which is conveniently connected to Royal Bengal via an internal corridor.
Another highlight was the guest lounge, open from 6 to 8 PM. It’s a cozy spot to unwind with complimentary drinks and a selection of finger foods—perfect for a pre-dinner hangout or a casual evening chat.
Whether you're traveling with family or looking for a luxurious escape with world-class dining, ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar deliver an experience that’s both indulgent and memorable."
"This was an absolutely horrible experience, I would not wish this on anyone. The communication to check in took so long and the host didn't even know exactly where the listing was. The property itself was disgusting, there was animal feces in one room and the bathrooms were utterly dirty. There was no toilet paper, 2 towels for 4 people. the list goes on. We had reserved for 2 nights and ended up leaving after the first night promptly, the team in charge would not even give us a refund. Horrible experience, please do not book this. "
"I was visiting from New York during December 20-23 and stayed in room 204. While booking this place (Dover Inn next to the Gariahat Police Station), I was hesitant because of some scary reviews among other good ones. I am writing this review to negate most of such extremely negative reviews, and also offer some friendly suggestions. First of all, the location of this Boutique hotel is "Outstanding". Second, the service and warmth I received, was "Outstanding". I wish to specially mention the names of Divyanga, Sujata, and Nikhilesh (the Hindi-speaking attendant). Third, the restaurant within the hotel was "Outstanding". The cleanliness of the bed and the room was also great! Finally, the price for the location was "Outstanding". I would also like to leave a few friendly suggestions. (1) is it possible to have the geyser connected to shower so that the guests could have a hot shower? (2). The air conditioner did work but, although the remote had temperature settings, the cooling was uncontrolled and brought the room to a freezing state. (3) The sink had a crack, which did not leak however. A new, sink might help. (4) When I was checking in, my Chase Visa card was accepted, but later, when I was leaving, the same card and also other cards were denied. I suspect, that this is a local phenomenon and should be investigated. Upon calling the card management, was told that the problem existed at the vendor's facility. I hope to come again- Dr. Probal Banerjee"
