"Having arranged to meet friends in Cardiff and not knowing the city, we opted to stay at The Clayton, very close to the station. The hotel far exceeded our expectations and couldn’t fault it. The rooms were clean, quiet, bed very comfortable and with all the facilities one could need. All the hotel staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was good as was the main menu. An excellent short break in a perfect location."

Future Inns Cardiff Bay

10/10 Excellent
"Room was a good size. Plenty of free on site car parking. Only a few min9r niggles which detracted from an otherwise good experience. No shower gel on first night, nut was replenished the next day, as we're the facial tissues box which was all but empty on arrival. No mini fridge in room, but maybe I set my expectations too high. Window glass was very dirty but being a 5th floor room understand they can't be cleaned daily but looked like they hadn't been cleaned for weeks if not months. TV had basic channels but not all buttons on the remote control were in working order so a little difficult to navigate."

The Parkgate Hotel

The Parkgate Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"From entering the hotel we had a feeling of relaxation and every member of staff who we met was very welcoming. When checking in, the staff were very friendly and as well as providing all the information we needed, our room was also ready ahead of time. This was very well appointed, very clean and overlooked the Principality Stadium. We arrived at the restaurant for our prearranged Sunday lunch, and had to wait a little while to be seated. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Once we arrived back in the evening, we went to the bar for a drink and the barman, as with the other staff, was very friendly and informative. We checked-out just before the required time and despite the receptionist being very courteous, professional and helpful, we didn't find him as friendly as other staff members. However, this didn't deter our overall very pleasant experience. Thank you and we look forward to returning."

Park Plaza Cardiff

Park Plaza Cardiff

8/10 Good
"I’ve been staying at this hotel since 2010, and it’s always been our go‑to place when visiting Cardiff. We’ve loved it for so long that even our now 11 year old looks forward to staying here. The staff are consistently helpful, the location is ideal, and the facilities have always contributed to a really enjoyable stay. However, this is the first visit where I’ve felt the hotel is overdue for a refurbishment. The rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, and the spa facilities in particular need attention. The changing rooms look very tired, and the rainfall shower experience is barely functioning. One additional point, although not the hotel’s fault, is the walk from the city centre. The area now has a large number of homeless individuals, and while I understand the complexity of the issue, it did make the walk back feel uncomfortable when I was alone with my son in the late evening."
