The Great House Hotel & Restaurant

The Great House Hotel & Restaurant

8/10 Good
"The hotel is situated on a main road just outside of Bridgend. The building is rustic with a quaint charm that puts you instantly at ease. The lady on reception was really warm and helpful. My room was lovely and clean and the bathroom had both a shower and deep soak bath. The bed has this amazing mattress which was so soft that it enveloped you like a marshmallow and provided one of th best night's sleep I have had in a long while. Breakfast was cooked perfectly with ingredients of a quality you can tell they are locally sourced. The only drawbacks were I couldn't get the shower to provide hot water but the bath took care of that and the lock on the door got stuck meaning it was difficult to leave the room at times and could provide a hazard in the vent of a fire. Otherwise it was an idyllic stay."
