Doubletree by Hilton has brilliant location very close to the Central station. It’s perfect especially if you are holding luggage from Central station, it saved you lots of trouble and energy (some bumpy rocky road). However, the other side of the station has lots of drug addicts that make the area unsafe. Good thing is Doubletree located on the other side, next to water front. Hotel staff is very friendly with nice warm cookie at checkin. However, room is small and bathroom maintenance can be improved (eg medium blockage at bath tub, difficult to set a comfortable water temperature). Overall stay is ok but together with the price, I think I am expecting more.

It was difficult to get a clean table for breakfast in the morning. No staff showed us to a table and so when we took one a rude member of staff told us off like children, then proceeded to rant and rave, then talk about us to another member of staff!! Completely inappropriate and poorly organised breakfast restaurant. However hotel was lovely and clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the lounge areas were lovely too.

Very convenient location to excellent tram, metro and train system. Concierge personnel friendly and very helpful. Room small but efficient and clean except no instructions on food coffee machine. Service in lounge was spotty and breakfast cost seemed over the top. Overall thought would book there again if in Amsterdam.
