The property was well located. The staff was pleasant despite the alarming lack of service and general uncleanliness of the hotel. Bring your own bath supplies as they provided one miniature set for two people, they do not service the rooms unless you are staying more than two nights. Despite being a fairly newly renovated property the hotel is quite run down, rooms aren’t clean; windows, carpets, surfaces and chairs are worn and there is an alarming amount of visible dirt and grime everywhere including the hotel restaurant. When we returned to our room for our second night and inquired why room hadn’t been serviced they were defensive and said it was hotel policy not to pick up towels, make a bed or replace coffee pods or provide basic room sundries unless you specifically asked ( we reused our coffee cups as when we asked for them to be replaced they brought sugar instead and no creamer - which we also had asked for as several had curdled). Overall, for the price of over $400 a night- which is a top price for a hotel room on a summer weekend room in the city of Albany we didn’t think we’d have to rummage through the garbage to reuse a cup for coffee, beg for new towels and generally feel like we were on our own. Based on our stay we’d expect better service at a Motel 6. Be prepared for high prices, dirty rooms, no valet parking, no luggage carts, bring bath supplies from home and either find a Starbucks or travel with K-cups and creamer from home.
