The 1929 glamour of this hotel is breathtaking. The staff were polite and helpful, especially Linda who checked us in. The proximity to Madison Square Garden makes this even more convenient if you are attending an event there.

I liked the location of the hotel. Rooms overall were fine, but on the smaller side. The cleaning could use improvement or more attention to detail. For example there were some red stains on the shower curtain and a sock under the mattress. But I felt comfortable and safe there. No sign of bed bugs, which is a major concern of mine when traveling. Would stay again.

Great location for us in the city- wanted something close to public transit. Close to the NJ transit line and many subway stops. Bathroom & room were clean, not terribly spacious, but we were only here to sleep:). Some complained about noise, but we were only here the 29th floor, no issues. If you need your room to be black out dark for sleep, bring a mask.

Rooms are clean but very very tiny. The AC thermostat stopped working on our last night there so it was just blowing freezing cold air the whole time. You cant beat the location but out of 5 other NyC hotels I have stayed at this one ranks at the bottom.

The food at the Butcher and Banker was amazing and the staff fabulous! As visitors we did not know how generous the portion sizes were! So if you go get a side to share! We also got coffee and pastries at the little cafe in the lobby, which we enjoyed. Breakfast at the Tic Tock was also very good. Had a delicious pizza at the Trattoria Bianca. The Hotel itself is under some renovations currently they were doing some rooms on our floor the last day as we were there as well as the lobby. Over all I would definitely stay again. The location was perfect for our visit.

Location, location, location. That’s the main reason we always stay at the New Yorker. Our second reason is the staff. Super friendly and always helpful. The building is an amazing art deco style which is very unique. Carpets and bathrooms are a little worn, but it is what you expect from a hotel that’s about to turn 100. Missed our free breakfast this time but the diner is very reasonable so we still eat there even if it’s not included. Thanks for another excellent stay!

This Hotel is at an excellent location. The lobby, the adjoining restaurants, elevators and staff are excellent. The only downfall and why I cannot give it a solid 4 stars or 5 stars is the room!!! The room was very dated and almost what I would expect from a 1 or 2 star hotel. I would certainly stay again if there were limited other choices. I think the price was fair - only because of the location and amenities. They need to start updating the rooms and make this a truly great hotel.

Very clean and pleasant staff. Great location to subway. Our shower was awful. The water pressure is insane, not relaxing at all. Felt like being sprayed with a fire hose. No water bottle filler, which would have been so awesome!

The location is excellent both for nearby attractions and public transit connections farther afield. Easy walking distance to Broadway Theatres and nearby restaurants, with Harold square a block away, and Madison Square Gardens in view from the the entrance. There are three restaurants on site, including a very reasonably priced diner by NY standards that seemed quite popular in the late evening. The staff were all friendly. The rooms were clean. They were very small and basic, but I think that's to be expected in so central a location. The bathroom hardware was old but perfectly functional apart from a slight drip in the cold water facet in the sink. Very quiet with a city skyline viewable from the small window (we had a 20+ floor room). Quite satisfied overall with the stay.
