Adventure Science Center

Adventure Science Center featuring interior views
Bring the kids to this fun-packed educational attraction where they can learn all about space and science.

Offering fun and frolics for all ages, the Adventure Science Centre is the perfect place to head if you're visiting Nashville with youngsters. With a range of interactive exhibits that will make all five of their senses tingle, as well as exhibits on dinosaurs and outer space, there is plenty on offer.

The focal point in the heart of the building is the Adventure Tower, a four-storey playground which will captivate visitors. Walk on a piano, marvel at the shadow-freezing wall and climb the Vertebrae Ladder. You can even power an elevator with a bicycle. Finish your time here with a visit to the walk-in globe at the summit of the tower, from which you can also see great views of Nashville.

On the second floor, you'll find the BodyQuest exhibit, where young visitors can learn all about their bodies by taking a voyage down a digestive tract and climbing through the passages of a huge beating heart. They can even see how their insides work in the X-ray machine.

Head for the Space Chase wing where you can discover your weight on all of the different planets of the solar system. However, don't worry too much if it turns out you're far heavier than you thought on Jupiter! Afterwards, feel what weightlessness is like in Moonwalker. On the site, you'll also find the Sudekum Planetarium, where you can see all the way into the skies above.

There is much to see and do across the complex, so you could easily spend half a day at this attraction. If you want to spend more time here, grab food at the second-floor restaurant or bring your own packed lunch.

The Adventure Science Centre is located opposite Fort Negley Park in the midtown area of Nashville and is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. School groups typically visit on weekday mornings during term time, so you may wish to visit later in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. You can reach the attraction on the MTA bus, though free parking is on offer if you're driving.
