"Expedia gave incorrect geographical coordinates and I ended up stranded in a inhospitable neighborhood. The hotel reacted quickly. They sent a taxi to pick me up; apologized; upgraded my room from basic to presidential; and offered a fantastic meal at no cost. My initial outrage changed into appreciation. Location is near the train station, the river and walking distance to attractions. Considering it is an older hotel it shows some wear but the price compensates for it. "We have been staying at Saixiang Hotel since 2015. We love the staff at Saixiang. They make us feel welcome and comfortable, and over the years many become like friends. Our special thanks to Sun Jing, Liu Qing, Zhang Sheng, and the hotel driver Mr. Li; Zhang Lei and the staff at breakfast buffet; and the concierge Wang Hanfeng and others. They are very nice and professional, and we think they are the best staff ever. We do hope the Executive Lounge will open the next time we visit~"

"We had the most amazing stay. Originally built as a polo club, the owner has recently changed the estate to a grand hotel. I can understand why... the area is quite remote but no expense has been spared in providing 5 star accommodation. Booking two rooms, we were upgraded to the Chaiman's Lounge and the room was magnificent. Huge bathroom, a toilet with auto lid, lighting, flushing, drying etc etc!!! The owner is building on site, Tianjin's tallest skyscraper... to compare, the Empire...
