"Excellent hotel. Excellent location."
I needed a nice hotel in the Jing-An Temple area of Puxi. My customer was staying at the Hilton nearby, but the Swissotel, in my opinion, was much nicer for roughly the same price. The room was great, complete with espresso machine, and especially quiet for Shanghai. The property was located right over the Jing-An metro station, which I used to get to their airport the next day.

"Great hotel"
Great hotel, fantastic location, direct access to line 2 of metro. Lovely spacious room and very helpful staff and good facilities. Been to shanghai 3 times now and this is definitely the over all best hotel we have stayed in. Shanghai is a fantastic city and line 2 offers access to people's square, the bund and pudong. Surrounded by lots of Restaurant's both Chinese and Western. Great stay.

"Enjoyable stay"
Hotel felt rather luxurious from the entry foyer to the room. The bathroom was well appointed with a fantastic shower that actually had decent water pressure. Our room overlooked the houses and some low rise buildings. The room was very quiet with a firm mattress, but not too firm compared to most Chinese standard of beds. Train a 10 minute walk away. It costs about $40AUD from the airport in a taxi doing 140km/h. Should have learnt to say slow down in Chinese.

"Best Hotel in Shanghai!, Perfect location, close to restaurants, bars, consulants, hospital, airport"
As an American on business in China, finding the right hotel is becoming more of an important aspect of ensuring I get the needed comfort and rest for my business the next day. There are plenty of English speaking receptionists who can help me get taxis to bars, restaurants, and the Pudong airport. They understand the importance of quick service and have been accommodating every time I have visited. There are places to dine, work out, and have business meetings all inside the hotel. There is a hospital within walking distance and access to freeways within a KM. I have had hotel employees walk more then a mile with me to help me find the right medicine I needed from a specific pharmacy, along with translating the transaction and making sure I paid the right amount and didn't pay too much. Whether you are a first time visitor to Shanghai on holiday, or a long time businessmen coming back on a normal basis. I highly recommend the Shanghai Hotel. (This is my first online hotel review, I just felt my experiences are worth sharing)

"Great location hotel for all amenities"
Have been going to this hotel for many years ,great location for food, banks, metro. Staff in hotel are friendly and will try to help. The only downside was you only get one breakfast when they are two people in room ,but I think this happens in many Chinese hotels.

"Just the name to envy from usual 5* big players"
Honestly just good. Actually great. Not much to envy from the mainstream big players 5* hotels. Location, service, room, everything was there. Came in as an Expedia elite member and didn't even have to ask to be upgraded, as was originally mentioned on the deal I signed up too but which isn't always respected. Would definitely recommend it anytime and as a regular shanghai traveller who tried many different proposals, I think I finally found my perfect match and from now won't be looking anywhere else!

"A very pleasant hotel in downtown Shanghai."
We were very impressed with Molly Villa. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the staff pleasant, courteous and willing to please. The rooms were very reasonably priced and the special we took advantage of came with the best buffet breakfast that I have ever had (and I have travelled extensively). Well done to the management and staff.

    Pocket Guide: Shanghai Jing'an Hotels

A central and highly populated district, Jing’an is home to a large number of expatriates and several luxurious residential complexes. The striking Buddhist Jing’an Temple is definitely worth a visit. Considered one of Shanghai’s most famous sights, the temple features the largest jade sitting Buddha statue in China and a 3.5-ton Ming Dynasty copper bell.
