"Great Villa, just don't buy into Diamond Resorts."
We had a amazing week at Grand Villas! the customer service is amazing, but when they ask you if you want a free gift, just say no, they will take you to a presentation that lasts 3 hours and want you to buy into Diamond Resorts. look up reviews on Diamond before you buy!! i personally don't recommend it.
Great amenities and helpful staff
Staff very helpful with resolving a rental car situation.
Hotel promoted action rental car and they gave me the wrong size car and the wrong toddler seat twice resulting in a loss of 2 days of use and they only refunded once.
Be prepared to drive down street to walmart for incidentals as the onsite store is very expensive
Adjacent to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet Mall, this resort is 2 miles from Downtown Disney® area and Walt Disney …More
Overall experience is good. Hotel staff can be more helpful when asked about restaurant and shopping around the area. The one female hotel representative is not very enthusiastic and the direction is not clear.
It was our first time at this side of Orlando, we were not familiar with the surroundings. We had to ask were to check in. Front desk staff Shelley was friendly and very helpfull. At first the room looked different from the listing on line, the furniture needs to be replaced is outdated and the sheets of the bed were old. The balcony had a lot of dust . When we entered the room we had a very annoying sound of the fire alarm, we called to have it fixed, however, maintenance department left already it was a Sunday. We had another worker who came without any equipment, he removed the smoke detector, but we never had any other response. On the day of departure we requested a half hour extension which was granted to us, however, the housekeeping department start knocking on the door almost every 5 minutes. That was very unprofessional since we requested the extra half hour. Overall not bad we liked the garage parking.
We booked a King Suite room with a Disney view and a balcony. The room was very large and the living room included a sofa bed. The room also had a small 4 person dinning room table and a small "kitchen" - nothing more than a sink and a small refrigerator. There was also a nice coffee machine but sadly no option for hot water or tea.
The bed was amazingly comfortable. It really made it hard to get up in the morning and actually want to go over to the Disney. The bathroom was large with a large shower and a separate bathtub. I would certainly recommend getting a room that faces the Disney Parks- as you can see all the fireworks. Fireworks start at 9 over at Epcot- then around 930 at Hollywood Studios-then last is the Magic Kingdom. We were usually done with the crowds and would come back just before the Epcot fireworks and sit on the balcony and watch them all! We did order room service a few times and it was fairly fast and the food was great. Always a nice way to end the day. We only used the pool for about an hour. It was nice but there were so many families and crying kids it just wasn't what we had in mind. So we went to the spa instead. It was fantastic! Although pricey for treatments, I would recommend budgeting it in! The service is unparalleled. And I visit a lot of spas.
The front dest staff was incredible. THANK YOU JASMINE!!! We were also able to text message them with any questions or concerns we had throughout our stay. This is our new go-to hotel for Orlando
Pocket Guide: Orlando Downtown Disney® area/Lake Buena Vista Hotels
Downtown Disney ® area is Disney for the adult set. Here, restaurant options range from fast-food fare to white-linen service. Entertainment choices include dancing, live music, and a multiplex cinema. Shops offer children's toys, as well as Harley-Davidson gear and hand-rolled cigars. Downtown Disney ® area's other appeal is its proximity to both non-Disney and Disney-owned golf courses.
