Edinburgh and Lothian Kid friendly Holidays

I really regret booking this room. First off, it’s along the main road with bars right outside. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night in late September and it was an extremely loud until about 1am and then it gets loud again around 6:30 so we didn’t really sleep. The beds are atrocious. They feel like pull out futons with springs poking into you. The entire hotel is super hot. I think for some reason it doesn’t get a good breeze. Again, we visited in late September and were way too warm to sleep comfortably. Our shower didn’t get too hot and also leaked from the shower, around the sink, around the toilet, and to the door. For $460/night, I feel I could have gotten the same experience at a hostel for less than $50/night. The shower had mildew on the caulking and around the hinges. Tiles in the bathroom were cracked and chips in the bathtub. Not worth the price.

Great location

Room was clean although housekeeping seemed sporadic and needed little reminder notes to replenish coffee and tea. Unfortunately there was a lot of concrete work being done behind the hotel, providing lots of noise to wake up to.

Great hotel right in the midst of old town Edinburgh. Steps from the train station, tram, castle, etc.

Bit tired looking but perfect for our 1 night stay.
