As soon as we arrived Trevor came to the door to welcome up, he was really enthusastic and gave us as much information as he could! They’d had a cancellation so he also upgraded us for free. The room was amazing and had little extras, like tea, coffee, hit chocolate pouches if you wanted to make a drink. We were only there for two days and so wished we’d booked longer, can’t explain how much we loved it

We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. We had a king room which was absolutely huge, with a massive, very comfortable bed, a large and comfy sofa, a large bathroom with an excellent shower and a really big TV on a rotating wall bracket (to make it watchable from anywhere in the room). Excellent rooms (all 3 rooms in our party were Superior roons & all we excellent), lovely breakfasts & friendly helpful sraff. The only negatives were the hand wash did not work & despite leaving the top off it was not replaced . Also the tea/coffee was not replaced after use ub

All in all it was a very nice stay food was excellent room was very good only thing that took the edge of the whole experience was we were told breakfast finished at ten we got down at 9-32 and a snoty waitress said breakfast finished at 9-30 I pointed out it’s only two minutes past surely you can squeeze us in no chance spoilt the whole experience

Stayed in one of the cabins - compact but spotless, warm (in January!) and comfortable - only very slight problem was the heating control which is a tad over complicated but did not in any way detract from our stay....own transport essential...fantastic location...food great and a great, welcoming staff team.

Excellent rooms and location

The hotel was really nice built in the 17 hundreds nice n clean staff exceptionally helpful and very friendly we required a disabled room there was stairs into hotel which I could manage then once in everything on the level room was lovely with lots of space and had a wetroom with rails to hold onto and the choice of 2 different shower heads to use the meals were really good would highly recommend it

The owner was extremely attentive, even got some decaf coffee for our room. We were able to book into our room early which was very convenient. The room was very clean and even little touches like cotton buds and cotton wool in the bathroom didn’t go unnoticed. Work visit and didn't arrive till 8ph. Very helpful young lady on Tuesday night. No food available in the evening but able to eat my chippy tea with a pint ;-) Very handy for work and great for local walks in the evening. Looking forward to being back next week.

Great hotel rooms were large and everything we needed. Super value for money. The staff were amazing considering it was Easter and how busy they were, still managed to smile and make time for us. Would highly recommend to stay there as more than reasonable and near the Lakes and The Dales .. will definitely return… thank you guys

Stopped on 14th may 2016. The girl who greeted us and served breakfast the next morning was excellent. The food we had at night was great and the breakfast was spot on. Lovely location. The bar bit is about as perfect looking as youd get a pub. The bathroom in our room was 'retro' but we quite liked talking about it and what colour we had in the 90s lol. The bedrooms are lovely too. Defo come back
