"My rating would be higher but unfortunately the hotel is looking a bit tired in places however I have to say that the staff are exceptionally friendly and the bed was really comfortable and I slept well. Even though the property would benefit from a facelift I would still stay again. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Sure I’ve stayed at places where there was more choice on offer but the hotel offered a help yourself continental selection and cooked to order hot option. It was cooked well and certainly sufficient for me. I used the restaurant a couple of times and the meals were nice. This hotel is well placed for visiting Beamish Museum and overall I was very happy with my stay here."
