I appreciated the price and the location.
We were directly above the club, so we could hear the music, but we didn't mind, we were only there to sleep. Also, It was noted in other reviews online, so we were prepared. I grew up across the street from a bar, and in direct comparison, Filmore's was far quieter. It might not be acceptable for some, it was perfect for us.
In other reviews I saw online, they mentioned mice.
I will confirm they have a few furry friends (they got at some of our snacks), so we hung them in a bag on the shower rod, problem solved. I understand it is an old (possibly historic) building, and it happens, so I won't take away from it.
It is very no frills, but if you're OK with that, it's a great place for the value. It's a few blocks from Bloor/Yonge (ergo line 1), on a 24hr streetcar line, and was over all, very convenient.
I WILL totally come back here again, especially knowing what I know now after having stayed there.
The only weird thing that was annoying was the TV.
It has Rogers cable, but many channels aren't available (signal issues), which wouldn't be a problem...except the TV in our room was so old (LCD hulk from early 2000s) it didn't actually have a HDMI port for something like a chromecast or Roku. I mean, kudos to the manufacturer and the hotel for maintaining a TV in great condition for that long, but it doesn't really serve modern needs.
Other than that, we had a great stay, and would recommend to any budget traveller.
