Beautiful luxury resort in Playa Del Carmen. The property is extremely well-maintained with modern amenities, and the staff were very polite and helpful. The staff here are amazing, all so friendly and made my birthday special by decorating my room and bringing me a cake. Thanks to Flor on reception, but all the staff deserve praise especially housekeeping.
The room is great. The breakfast is great. The location is great, 2 mins from 5th Ave and 7/8 mins from the beach.

Though it is worth noting there is no bar. You are so close to several it doesn't affect anything.

We loved our stay at Akumal Bay. The staff at the resort were excellent and the location was perfect.
The food at the buffet was good and the evening entertainment was also very good.
The only negative was the morning “fight” for the loungers at the beach and on our first day, because we arrived in the afternoon, there were no towels left. For the rest of our stay we made sure we ensured we asked for towels in the morning and we didn’t have any problems.
