Copthorne Hotel Newcastle
It’s situated at the bottom of a fairly steep hill by the river so getting into town required some effort or a taxi. Not much down by the river apart from a few bars.

Grand Hotel Gosforth Park
Stayed for 1 night room only. Kettle didn’t work but too late to do anything about it. Reported it to reception on the way out and got a small apology. No offer of a cuppa.
