Basic and convenient location

No frills waterfront location close to Taj Palace. Make sure you don't get conned by the Optometrist they have waiting in reception - we had come down to meet our local guide and thought was him only to be told by our actual guide that Hotel Staff would not let them wait in reception for us - bizarre but we had a great day tour. Laundry is super cheap

Part of the building is under renovation. However, this did not affect my stay at all, as I was not in the room during the day. The hotel is very conveniently located for Coloaba, Fort, Kala Goda, etc.

Great location but noisy

Hotel was undergoing renovation of the elevator while we were there in January and they worked and were noisy late into the night with no acknowledgement or apology from the management. The staff were very expectant of tips and would hang around uncomfortably waiting for a tip. Had not experienced that anywhere else in India. Other than this feed back, the hotel location is good and good base to explore old Mumbai.

Great location - less than great experience.

The reception staff need service training. Pretty rude about passport / identification procedures and would have lost my FRRO document had I not insist in finding it upon leaving. Room was pretty threadbare with marginal levels of cleanliness. Not again and would definitely not recommend.

Great service

The hotel is not in the greatest condition but the location is fantastic. A 2 minute walk to Raj Palace and Gateway of India. Beds were very comfortable, wifi was fantastic, breakfast was good and the staff were just incredible. I was a female travelling alone and they guided me so well, organising cars to take me around, wait for me to finish and take me to my next location for a very cheap price, when I wanted to convert cash, they called around to many places in order to find me the best rate. I can not thank the staff enough for the great service they provided.

Tolle Lage - Indischer Standard - aber o.k .

Kenne das Hotel von früheren Aufenthalten. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Tollste Lage in Süd-Mumbai, direkt am Meer und kaum Autoverkehr. Ganz in der Nähe des berühmten Taj Hotels. Empfehle Abendessen auf der Terrasse des Hotels Sea Palace gleich nebenan. Ich kennen kein Hotel oder Restaurant in Mumbai, wo man im Freien direkt am Meer essen kann - und ich habe drei Jahre dort gelebt.

pay far too much to be treated badly

hotel is probably the most overpriced i have came across in all of india considering the quality , manager/reception staff is quite simply just horrible not a nice guy to deal with. room quality was bad to say the least when i go back to mumbai next week i will be stwyimg down the road for less with better accommodation and a friendlier atmosphere

Ingen riktig sömn, bara vila :(

Vi var tre personer i rummet, en vuxen och två 15-åringar. Jag, vuxen, som fick sova på soffan ville ha två lakan då den uppfattades som SÅ smutsig, dock helt ok i komforten. Sängarna ok. Flitarna var så motbjudande att man knappt ville ta i dem, kändes smutsiga och orena. Gav obehagskänslor. Ingen av oss är speciellt kräsen men de gick över måttet med hästlängder. Det var obehagligt att dörren till hotellkorridoren var lättöppnad och verkade lättforcerad. AC-n lät som en helfabrik och jag trodde att jag skulle få en stöt av den vid kontakt för av och på sättning. Det kändes otryggt och svårt att sova i denna otillitliga miljö dock hände inget. Hotellet kändes nedgånget och slitet, för mig/oss som skandinaviska turister. Personalen gullig och hjälpsam, bra i kontakten. Läget var bra, fint och lugnt, vilket kan vara en stor tillgång i Bombay.

Average Hotel but great location

This hotel is good enough but the location is very good. It is right on the water within a few minute walk of the Gateway to India. The staff was helpful. Be prepared to pay for Internet that expires after you log in one time so use it up at one time. Staff was very helpful, got me a driver for my 2 days in Mumbai.

Good location in quite a peaceful part of Colaba.

Small problem with the booking, as the paperwork said the room (for just one person) would have either two single beds or a double bed, but as far as the hotel is concerned it costs extra for one person to occupy such a room, so I stayed with the allocated room, which was airy enough. Otherwise, everything was OK and it was quiet enough to sleep well at night. The staff were friendly. It's a shame they don't make more of their waterfront location, making somewhere to sit and take in the view. The taxi drivers outside will overcharge you, even using a meter, if you don't know the rates, so ask in the hotel roughly what you should pay.

Olimme hotellissa jo toista kertaa. Vaikka hotelli on nuhruinen=kaipaisi maalia, ei haittaa meitä. Henkilökunnan ystävällisyys on niin mahtavaa ettei ole usein kohdallemme sattunut. Ravintolan ruoka hyvää. Sama hotelli jos Mumbaihin mennään. Olemme oppineet Intiassa katsomaan paljon asioita erilailla kuin ennen. Olemme siellä viihtyneet vuosia.

Forget it! Much better choices around...

We had chosen this hotel for its situation... We had booked another hotel not so far for the two nights before... But we wanted to keep expenses down a little bit... Bad move! Bad rooms, really incredibly bad beds, bad reception, noisy guests in the corridors yelling half night long, musty, old,and really, really, to avoid... Pay just a little more, do a little research on internet, and go not very far, to a much better place...

dishonest hotel description?

The management should be honest and say that they charge for wire-less (overcharged actually: about 2 dollars per hour) rather than that "complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas." The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Otherwise, what they offer and the quality of the service do not justify the price.

Grosse deception d`avoir eu cette chambre la. Les autres semblaient en bon etat; j`ai demande a changer, refus oubien 1000 roupies de plus. J`ai quand meme paye 90 euros pour ces 2 nuits, ce qui fait en roupies plus de 3000 par nuit, ce qui est exorbitant. Je suis toujours en Inde, je paye couramment 500, voire 800 roupies, mais pour 3000 roupies j`aurais un palace.

Excelente ubicacion, desorganicacion y sucio

Esta ubicado en una excelente zona (a pie uno puede llegar a multiples sitios turisticos). El precio es muy accesible. La organizacion deja que desear, tardaron 45 minutos en encontrar la reservacion que habia hecho. El baño del cuarto estaba asquerosamente sucio. La comida del restaurante es buena y barata.

Hotellet ligger et pragtfuldt sted, men da jeg ankom klokken 3 om eftermiddagen havde de ikke vaerelset parat til mig. De vis te mig op i et snavset vaerelse, hvor haandvaerkerne stadig var i gang med at reparere saniteten i badevaerelset. Ved at klage fk jeg dog et andet vaerelse. Morgenmaden, sm kunne koebes til 200 rps var uappetitlig. hellere ofre lidt mere og bo bedre! Merete

Nätinfo stämmer inte.

Mycket bra läge. Städningen är toppen. Dock är servicen i receptionen dålig. Fritt wi-fi står det på nätet. Det är det INTE. Man kan köpa nätverkskort men det fanns inga veckokort på hela veckan. Dygnskorten blev dubbelt så dyra. Fritt vatten står det också vilket inte heller stämmer. Men längst upp finns en mycket trevlig takterrass med restaurang. Den hör till ett annat hotell som ligger på plan 3 och 4 ( alltså ovanpå detta hotell) varför de inte så gärna berättar om den. Totalt sett ett bra hotell även om man får ta reda på det mesta själv.
