"The property and the staff was phenomenal, what I didn't like is the fact that when I booked I was told I'd get a certain amount in US dollars to spend at the resort but when I got there and asked about it they barely explained and told me it's coupons for different stuff but never explained how I would get them or what I needed to do to get them. This was misleading and I was under the impression that I could use the funds on whatever I wanted to."

"Our experience was in sharp contrast to the majority of positive reviews. The hotel was tired and dated with serious maintenance and deep cleaning needed. There were cockroaches in bathroom and feral cats wandering the halls. Guest services were rude and unhelpful, the staff in the restaurants were friendly but incompetent. Not sure what training they receive, as they made racially and culturally inappropriate comments. We got locked and bolted onto our balcony by the house keeper, when we were banging on the patio door to be let back in, she just laughed at us. Reported the incident to front desk, no action taken. There was constant noise from building work, we understand hurricane Melissa hit hard but don't re-open your property if repairs aren't complete. Food was ok, as the remainder of the resort geared towards North American clientele. Hotel staff were worse than hawkers on the beach, always trying to sell something. Don't recommend and wouldn't return."

"Property is listed as a resort. It's not. They are rundown apartments renting as short term rentals. The apartment I was assigned badly needed up dating.. The place was stuck in the 1970s. All the furniture was old and looks like 'side walk"'trash from the 70s. The stove was the old coiled electric stove. The space wasn't designed properly. The small kitchen was located where the bathroom should have been and the bathroom was located where the kitchen should have been. Water settles on the porch when it rained. The building has the best location on the strip. It's across from Dr's cave beach. That's the best feature of this place. The whole building needs renovation."

"A very beautiful hotel on the Montego Bay Hip Strip, close to the beach and many dining options. The lobby was pristine, spacious, and welcoming, and check-in was seamless. The staff were warm, courteous, and professional throughout my stay. My room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated in calming neutral tones, exactly as pictured online. The bed was comfortable. Thoughtful touches included a kettle, mini fridge, luggage rack, air conditioning and everything else needed for a comfortable stay. The balcony offered the most spectacular sea views and was easily one of the highlights of my stay. Being located on the Hip Strip, there is some traffic noise, but after a day at the beach and a night in that wonderfully comfortable bed, I slept very well. Breakfast was included, although the options were limited. Guests must choose either the Jamaican or Continental breakfast and, apparently, the two shall never meet 😂! The portions were also quite small … so small that I would need to extend my stay for a few more mornings before I can deliver a truly comprehensive breakfast review 😂. I was equally amused and shocked when I discovered that even a juice refill was off the table 😂! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily return. The location is excellent, the hotel is beautifully maintained, and I absolutely loved the simplicity of the design and décor throughout the property. It will definitely be my go-to spot the next time I visit Montego Bay."

"Here’s a polished review you can post: We recently stayed at the Riu Palace Jamaica in Montego Bay. Overall, our stay was nice, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating. One thing that was disappointing was that when we booked, it was advertised that we would have access to the two neighboring Riu properties. However, upon arrival, we learned that there were limitations on what areas and amenities we could actually use. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and was a bit frustrating. To be honest, after seeing the neighboring Riu Montego Bay property, we wish we had booked there instead. While we were not able to see every room, the property itself appeared more updated, cleaner, and closer to the overall atmosphere and aesthetic we were looking for. The food was another area where we felt improvements could be made. If you eat at the main dining hall, expect to see many of the same options day after day. There wasn’t a lot of variety, which became repetitive during our stay. That said, we still enjoyed ourselves and made the best of our trip. The beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff helped make our vacation enjoyable despite some of the drawbacks."
