This hotel is great value for money, if you are in the right room. Our origonal room did not match what wethought we had booked, when the reception staff were approahed the bent over barkwards to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. The room was spacious, with kitchen facilities, shower cubical was small. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. Balcony had a lot of cobwebs. The rooms were not serviced daily even when notice was lft on door to do so, but this was addressed when raised in reception. There seems to be a lack of staff. This hotel is situated in an ideal spot with easy access to the tram service in to the city. It's within easy walking distance of St Kilda, Albert Park, Port of Melbourne. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, but there are several places near by to get an evening meal. The hotel has laundry facilities and a gym with static bikes, xtrainer, running machines and weight machines. Question: Would I stay here again - absolutely.

I arrived at nearly 1am and it took 15 minutes of calling and ringing the doorbell before someone came. This could make some people feel unsafe. Outside the building is quite dark. The grass on the kerb is untidy and I couldn't find a rubbish bin anywhere which are just little things. The check in took approx 15 minutes so in total it was half an hour before I got into my room. The room was clean enough but clearly had not had a vacuum since the last guests stayed there. The worst part for me personally was the smell of an aftificial flower scent sprayed everywhere. It was noticeable from the moment I walked into the foyer. I am hyper sensitive to perfume so it gave me a headache. There was not a flower anywhere in sight! I have stayed here many times before (pre-covid) without any issues but this time was by far the least enjoyable. Otherwise the room was very quiet and the bed was clean and comfortable. Morning check-out staff were lovely. Thank you.

What a shocker- Ëntertaining Mr Faulty
What a shocker! Arrived to view a paramedic going in and out of the hotel with a gurney-what the?? After a day out a glass of red would be nice-no wine glasses. Asked for them to be sent up to room but didn't even get the room no. No glasses. Went back to service desk-glasses in restaurant-don't know which key fits- don't know code for alarm. Finally got glasses. Took them to room ourselves as couldn't rely on them being delivered. Be good after a day out to have a cleaned room. Wrong- no room make up on weekends! The touted restaurant is not open so a meal and a cocktail was out of the question! OK a nice shower after a day out is always good BUT shampoo dispensers don't work and basin plug leaks. Asked about dispensers and they were filled but if the machine doesn't work, more fuel won't make it go! Finally leaving at 10:00am BUT cleaning comes into the room at 8:45 am! If you want to see Faulty Towers in operation this is the place.

I stayed here to watch the Australian Open when hotel supply was a challenge. Its a Mercure property and it looked like one (i.e. typical 4-star hotel). The location was good but not optimal for the tennis. The surrounding area looked a little soul-less but felt very safe and there was a tram stop within a 2-minute walk. Room was clean and functional with most mod-cons one would need. Front desk staff all very courteous and helpful. I didn't use any facilities so can't comment on that.

Asked for more coffee told we had to pay for it. Never experienced that before. Breakfast was average on all 4 breakfasts was cold every time. Staff in the restaurant seemed like they didn’t want to be there. At the end of our stay they never asked how was your stay. Wouldn’t stay there again.
