This was the perfect location since there were plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance and the train was nearby. The apartment was very clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay!

Unfortunately the railway line is a huge negative
Read the reviews on this place which suggested you request rooms on Male St side away from railway line. Unfortunately, not everyone can have those rooms and being fully booked we drew the short straw. We were given free parking as a consolation but the location backing onto the railway line is just atrocious. Victorian Government promise to remove rail crossings doesn't apply here. Trains run constantly from 5am to after midnight and the crossing bells along with incessant desire of train drivers to blow horn passing by is a huge pain in the arse. Windows aren't sound proofed which might assist but without sound proofing there is no peace and quiet to be had. Parking below was secure but extremely tight fitting in space for enough cars. Location was great and close to cafes and supermarkets but that was about it. King bed was 2 king singles together which made centre of bed uncomfortable and shower over bath an antiquated and dangerous practice. Fridge and kitchen well equipped but as said, railway noise is biggest drawback. Hopefully the useless Government removes the crossings and puts the rail underground fixing this issue. Failing that, huge upgrade to sound proofing. Staff excellent and helpful but can't say I'd stay again with railway noise.

Staying at the CSA in Brighton is always a treat. The room and facilities are excellent, and the beds are always comfortable. The supplied tea and coffee are, unfortunately, a more depressing story. These mean and execrable beverage sachets and bags strive for (and achieve!) a new low in taste and value. They were single-handedly responsible for driving me from my otherwise pleasant room in search of anything to wash the awful taste from my mouth. Fixing the tea and coffee problem would make this a five-star experience.
