And the cologne smell in the hotel was very strong and a little too much! Other than that rooms were spacious and clean and it was a great place to stay!! "We have stayed here many times after getting married here in 2020. The splash pad and pool is perfect for our 2 young children. This last stay was probably our least favorite stay. The hotel is under major renovations which we didn't know about until we arrived. During our stay there was a dryer lint fire that filled the hotel with heavy smoke. my family and I were napping on the 4th floor where the smoke detectors failed to sound. We only got out of the building cause I awoke to the smell of smoke. Checked the hallway and saw the emergency lights flashing but no alarm sounding. Called the front desk no answer then looked outside to find several fire trucks and first responders. I woke up my family and we ran down the stairs as the fire fighters were running up them. very scary to stay somewhere that had malfunctioning fire alarms especially somewhere we love to return to. If the fire had not been contained we could have had a very serious situation. Will never stay anywhere unless we are on the 1st floor after this experience."
