Great location for visiting London. Great price. Just needs so much updating and no lift so when you are in 4th floor not great.

Clean, updated room but we weren’t provided with any toilet paper (there wasn’t even a toilet paper holder like they didn’t want you using any) and had to go ask for it. Advertised free breakfast online and stated it on the back of our rooms door but THERE WAS NO BREAKFAST ON SITE. Asked the front desk to call us a cab and he very rudely goes “you can just download Uber.” Any time you needed the front desk for anything you had to ring a bell and wait until they showed up. Most of the property was old and it showed except in the rooms. No elevator. No AC and it was a sauna in our room even with a fan and the windows open. Only saving grace was it was in a good location and the room was clean.
I spent two nights here. To my horror, the bed was full of hair, and there were intermittent wafts of sewage from the toilet. I don’t really think housekeeping clean the place properly, that’s if there’s housekeeping at all! I put the ‘please make up my room’ sign on the front of the door in the morning, only to find the room in the exact same condition as I had left it.
The hotel itself is quite run down, which is evident from the moment you step inside. Noise wasn’t an issue and there was hot water. Hotel staff seemed friendly enough.
I’d only recommend staying here if you’re arriving in London late in the evening and just need a roof. Check the state of the bed linen and towels if you do plan on staying.
Where do I start. Very basic and tired hotel. Completely unsecured, anyone can just walk in off the street and walk around the hotel. No one on reception in the evening, they are off site, you have to ring a mobile number for them to come to the hotel. Bathroom reeked of sewerage,
We arrived early. We were told we had to wait to go to our room for the check in time. We left and returned an hour earlier to be allowed in to check in early.
As you enter the hotel, you immediately notice hotel’s history and how it has been very very over time. Looking beyond the blemishes you can see some of the remnants of history. You can imagine the charm it once had.
To check in you enter the room you see in Expedia. It is unmanned and you must ring the bell.
We were not allowed to check in early but when a fellow patron from Afghanistan arrived we were then allowed to
We were told our room was on the second floor but was actually on the third. No elevator all stairs.
When we were expecting to find beds to sleep on in our hotel room and found futons on metal frames. The futons were very low (1.5 feet in height) to the ground , musty, difficult to get out of with arthritis and very firm. The room was lacking. In the “newly renovated room” we were provided with two futons on metal frames, one tall table between the beds, tv with cable, no trash (we had to ask for that), no storage space for jackets (closet), no dresser (cube shelves instead), coffee table (very random), and two luxury dining room chairs with out arms but no table. Adequate lighting. Great heat. The room was clean with the exception of the brown smear on the wall outside the bathroom. No water pressure for shower and tub was unusually high to get into.

The room was pretty clean and we got a room service anytime we want. The size of the room was bigger than any other hotel that I ever stayed in London. We had 4 luggage and we could open all of them. The building is old you need to know that, son it's not the percet condition. But the price is also low too. Coffe machine at the lobby was so helpful to us to get up in the morning. And the guy on the front desk Azam was amazing. He tried to help us with everything. Gave us good tips and ask us how are we doing everyday. Location was awesome. 15 min walking to Oxford st and bus stop is like 3 to 4 min to all locations. I would prob stay again

+ Location was great and staff were friendly.
- Room wasn’t the cleanest and the extra glazing door was broken on arrival so only sash single glazed window which meant it was extremely noisy and not much sleep was had!
Terrible very filthy. Not recommended to any human being!

Carpet awful, no kettle in room (4th fl), unsafe, no elevtaor.
Bed was clean, bathroom nice but then shower tap was broken and I couldn't get hot water (just warm).
Had to carry bags up 4 flights stairs. The carpet is just atrocious. No kettle tea/coffee in the room; they cost what £5? Only downstairs which is useless, and a mess there anyway. Won't stay again. Anyone can walk in so felt unsafe.

Noisy, shabby... but a clean, basic room. Staff were great. View was awful. Continental breakfast promises on the notice on the door, none provided. They should probably change the notice on the door.
Hotel is nothing like the pictures. Very run down, thread bare carpets, badly smelling lobby and room and bed was uncomfortable and cheap. You get what you pay for.
We got a wrong room first, but they were quick to fix it. The pictures weren’t true to the place. But it was OK , good beds, cheap and ideal for turist who just need a good bed to sleep in and be out all day.
Very bad experience... no room service during our stay. We complaint there are out of bath materials, the staff told that we live in cheaper hotel can not expect too much. Is it a normal feedback?
The Somerset hotel offers excellent value accommodation in London in an excellent, clean, spacious, and safe location! My family and I stayed here in mid-August and were delighted that the hotel was not only close to the Underground, groceries, shops, and amenities, but it was only a short walk to Regent's Park! Eyaz was beyond helpful and welcoming, and did everything possible to enhance our stay with his kindness, care, and professionalism. We will definitely stay here again!
Whilst accepting the Somerset is a budget hotel in the West End, there is no excuse for incomplete repairs in the room, a broken toilet seat, only one towel in the room when it was booked for double occupancy, only 1 spare pillow and a very uncomfortable bed. The out of hours keypad entry system is unreliable - it took nearly 10 minutes to get it to work. On the plus side, the shower was very good. In summary, a great location, but in shabby condition
