If you are looking for a short stay with no expectations, this will be a great option for you however if you are looking for a decent place I personally will not recommend it.
Never ever stay at this hotel. The rooms are tiny and not clean. My room was on the 5th floor and there is no elevator. What made things worse was that my card key was constantly broken. I would climb 5 flights of stairs only to find that my key was not working. This happened every day. The hotel's response was that they had no idea why this was happening. The only positive is the area around the hotel is safe and located close to Hyde Park. Avoid this hotel at all costs
I booked a deluxe room and the size was quite good for london standards but that was about it. The bed was tiny with a horrible mattress, the carpet was dirty and the whole room smelled very bad. With a little bit of effort this hotel can be a lot better, I would urge the owners to invest in cleaning services at least so the rooms smell fresh and disinfected rather than mucky and filthy. Walking barefeet on the carpet felt disgusting as it was sticky and very dirty , better to just get rid of such old caroets and install laminate flooring that is easy to clean and disinfect. Also invest in better mattresses as it ruins a good night’s sleep and get bigger beds. the windows were old so a lot of noise comes from outside, my room was on the first floor facing the street it was quite noisy until 4 am.
The location is excellent, room sizes are decent but its just so badly managed and doesn’t really take much to improve on little things that could make a huge difference. Sadly the demand in London is so huge that hotels do not care what they offer to guests and its a shame that such beautiful properties are managed so poorly.
