Needs renovation. Very tired and in need of TLC.
Although not taken, a notice says it requires a £50 deposit which won't be refunded until the room has been inspected to make sure no damage has been caused - I'm not sure they would be able to tell!
Like a cup of tea? Facilities available but good luck trying to fill a kettle with water.
The staff were very friendly and helpful but I would avoid in the future
Where on earth did their 2 stars come from?
The staff at the reception welcomed us very well even though we checked in late at night. We were offered to check out at 11:30 am since we checked in late. My husband forgot his gold necklace in the toilet and housekeeping rushed down to us to give it back. Very honest team! We were so relieved. I don't know if it would've been returned if we were in a different hotel!
It is convenient to Kings Cross but not 2 minutes away unless in a fast car. Some redecoration is required in the rooms but has everything required for overnight. No main lounge or large reception area and no breakfast. However comfortable and warm on a cold night.
The room was incredibly basic - I expected it to some extent given the price but it really was the absolute bare minimum! There were hairs in the sink and shower when I arrived, and the toilet seat was up and the window wide open. There was no catch or lock on the window either, it was just a sliding window to the outside. The room overlooked a tower block opposite and I had to keep my curtains shut for privacy when getting ready/undressed because of the close proximity - the size of the room was so small you couldn’t help but stand in full view of the window! The lift was out of order and there wasn’t anyone on the reception desk when I came to check in, so I had to wait a few minutes. Not the end of the world but still a little bit disappointing! I didn’t feel as though the stay was good value for money at all, and the hotel didn’t seem to look anything like what I remembered from the listing. :(
