"Had a fantastic 3 night stay at lumley castle, the decor and character of the hotel were beautiful. All staff were pleasant and polite. Breakfast was lovely and made to order. We had a courtyard room which was lovely. Beds were comfy. "

"Negatives: Very dated and unclean room. Split drink all down the side of the bed which hadn’t been cleaned and bottle/food under the bed. Was also a noise buzzing constantly all evening, I had to turn the air conditioning on to drown it out. Queen size bed in room was very uncomfortable. Very bad nights sleep. Positives - Very friendly helpful staff in reception and the bar area. Restaurant/bar decor wonderful. Breakfast was very nice, enjoyed the omelette option. Pool temp warm. "

"Great for an overnight stay before an early flight. Staff were pleasant, room was clean, food from the bar was tasty and came quickly despite it being really busy. I would stay again if flying from Newcastle."

"Only a 10 min walk from the train station. Easy to find. Good sized rooms and clean. Bed a bit small, soft and sunk to the middle but fine for one night. Great breakfast."
