"Great location. Tastefully and conservatively updated old building right on the Plaza Mayor. Staff including housekeeping & comforter were super friendly & helpful. The rooms and gym/pool are very small not surprisingly, given the age of the building. Very easy to get around especially around the central sites of Madrid. Appropriately priced. "DWO was a wonderful base for our holiday in Madrid. We appreciated having a lovely, comfortable, clean hotel, with very well appointed rooms and a kind staff without spending a fortune. The metro station was ten walking minutes away, and we didn’t mind at all, especially since walking is the only way to fully enjoy the city anyway "

"Very good location - nice for a first-time visit. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Building is well renovated. Rooms could be better for the price though - A/C was very loud so had to keep windows open instead (the would not work so well if I went in summer), one time there was some unpleasant bathroom smell, and card key kept demagnetizing twice a day - time to fix the card system. Would still recommend the place overall."

"This is an excellent property and great value. The old rooms for the communal areas have the most beautiful ceilings. I had a double room that looked out onto a leafy street with a TV and ensuite . The building is very secure and there were quite a few solo female travelers staying there. Everything is very clean. The location is excellent for shopping and seeing the main historical sights. "
