Excellence Punta Cana - Adults Only All Inclusive

"This “5-star” resort was a complete scam and a huge disappointment for our babymoon. My husband and I were expecting a relaxing, clean, luxury stay, but the experience was the exact opposite. The first room smelled strongly of mold and was extremely dirty. There was hair in the bathtub, oily residue from previous guests left in the sink, and even urine on the toilet. After we complained, we were moved to another room, but that one was not much better. There were leftover sodas in the fridge, the couch was ripped, and the closet looked like it had been poorly painted over to cover damage. We could still smell mold in the second room as well. And the food — absolutely disgusting. If you want to risk ending up in the hospital, then this is the place for you. Most of the food tasted microwaved, the bread was stale, the vegetables looked rotten, and the desserts were awful. It genuinely seemed like leftover food was being reused over and over again. The only decent thing at this resort was the coffee. Even the servers looked miserable and unhappy to be there, which made the atmosphere even worse. After this entire experience, we should have received a refund, but the only thing they offered us was a free upgrade for a future stay if we ever decided to come back — which we absolutely never will. I would never return to this resort and would not recommend it to anyone, especially pregnant guests who are looking for a safe and relaxing vacation."

"Everyone enjoyed their stay. There were 7 of us total, 5 were college+ girls. Plenty of dinner options. Just set your alarm the first day to make your dinner reservations for 2 of the restaurants. We will definitely be back!"

"The property exhibited an impressive aesthetic; however, several aspects raised concerns. 1. The room door required forceful closure to engage the lock. 2. The Wi-Fi connectivity was consistently poor and intermittent across the entire premises. 3. During a late-night meal in the buffet, a significant presence of cockroaches was observed in the pizza area."

"Our stay at this resort was a mixed experience, though unfortunately the negatives far outweighed the positives. The natural setting is truly stunning, the beach was beautiful and the palm trees made for a gorgeous backdrop. The concierge was warm, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. Sadly, that's where the highlights end. The buffet staff was consistently unfriendly and unapproachable, which cast a shadow over the entire trip. The room cleanliness was a serious concern. The floor was unswept with a persistent musty odor, and the bathroom was the worst of it. There was a stale urine smell, and when I wiped down the walls myself, my wipes came back yellow, strongly suggesting old urine buildup. Housekeeping needs to wipe down all surfaces including walls after every turnover. The shower grout was dingy and needs to be scrubbed clean between guests. Mirrors and glass throughout the room were also covered in fingerprints upon arrival. The buffet food was poor and the frozen drinks tasted stale. The deserts were ok. The pool had so many loose tiles it felt unsafe, a hazard that needs immediate attention. This resort sits in a beautiful location with real potential, but it needs a serious overhaul in housekeeping, food quality, staff training, and maintenance before it can live up to its surroundings."
