We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. The staff could not have been more helpful and all in all the quality of our stay was exceptional. The bedrooms are understated but well-equipped. We only needed a one night stay, but we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly and very helpful staff. I make the Hotel staff down to 4 because of one manager who insisted on making the receptionist check us out when it would have been easier and quicker for him to do it. However the receptionist at check out was wonderful. I stayed here for work. Booked a family room but was changed to an exec room as I was traveling alone. The hotel was very centeral to jesmond, spotlessly clean and staff friendly. My colleagues room seemed a little more dated so i would recommend you opt for the exec rooms. Breakfast was included and whilst a few items where missing and not replaced there was a good choice. Overall i was very impressed.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. It's above a bar but there was no noise. Great location. Second time I stayed here - 1st room was a standard double and it was "snug" but fine for me on my own. This time I stayed in a superior and it was massive - have requested the same room when I go back for my 3rd stay in one month's time! Both bathrooms seemed to have been newly refurbished. The pillows are a bit thin and hard so next time I'll chuck my pillows from home in the car with me!

I have stayed in a number of hotels in Newcastle and this was the best stay. The room was spacious with a well equipped mini kitchen and we had prepared 2 good evening meals there. The bed was so comfortable and the location made the hotel quiet which is a change to the noise and sirens throughout the night in my other stays!
