" ⸻ Disappointed with my stay. The staff were not friendly, and despite arriving 2 hours after check-in time, my room was still not ready. I had paid extra for two beds but they said they have only room for 1bed. What’s worse is there was no apology for the inconvenience. Very unprofessional."

"1. AC Broken 2. The key card did not work, had to go downstairs 3x to get it fixed and the staff had a nonchalant attitude. 3. No outlets in the room, the only available outlet in the room was in bathroom, the 2 outlets in the room was filled with lamps and tv. 4. Smoking hot in room, the air conditioning unit the knobs were broken. Had to use my cellphone to call downstairs and no one at the front desk answered when I called at 11:47pm. 5. Very outdated Will never stay again."

"We have very mixed feelings overall. Starting with the good: convenient location, nice room (direct view of the Empire State Building), free coffee in the mornings, most staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our stay didn't end well. We asked reception if they could order a taxi for us to the airport (as it's not impossible for foreigners to use the app for this) and were quoted the regulated price. To our surprise, at the agreed time a standard car showed up instead of a taxi. While this already wasn't what we agreed on, things got weirder as we noticed the driver discussing a kickback from our trip - probably explaining why we didn't get a taxi as requested. Not necessarily a problem on its own, but it felt like we didn't get what we asked for for personal gain. To make things worse, when we said we would pay by card, we were told we had to pay more then - not something that would have happened with a taxi and felt both unfair and dodgy. As the cherry on the cake, there was no tip option below 25% / couldn't enter a custom amount - while this is an epidemic in the US, it felt especially ridiculous as we were already paying more than what was agreed and how much the taxi's regulated price would have been."
