Florence is a superb city with so much to see and do and an incredible selection of wonderful places to eat. We were spoiled by street performers (5 piece orchestra!) and by the Uffizi and Accademia Gallaria. 2 days was not enough! Will 100% be back!

Go there early in the year before the tourists overwhelm the town. Take your time exploring all the interesting historical and artistic items. Even though there is a decent public bus system serving the town, Florence is a place to explore on foot.

Florence is a wonderful city to visit. Booking tickets for the main sites is essential: Accademia, Uffizi, Cappella Di Medici, Santa Croce, The Duomo. Planning your trip in advance is essential to get the most out of your stay, and avoid queuing!

Beautiful place. Book anything you want to see early and get skip the line tickets. Very overcrowded. Hard to navigate the streets with so many people. Went in late May. Summer must be insane. Still worth a visit. Museums awesome. Food amazing.

Excellent art and history walking tours to lesser known sites from La Bussola Tours ( www.florence-freewalkingtour.com). For a special meal, discreet Ora d'Aria near the Uffizi Gallery has superb tasting and florentine steak menus. Book ahead.

Do a food tour at the start of your trip. It will give you context for the rest of your dining. Florence has some wonderful history and traditions that make it into your dining experience to this day. Don't neglect the South side of the river.

The city itself was beautiful with many wonderful dining and cultural options. However, the city was completely overrun with tourists. On some streets, it was hard to even move. The sheer volume of people negatively impacted our experience.

We booked a 3 hour walking tour the morning of our first full day with a company called Artviva. Our guide, Alexander, was exceptional. Check out the wine windows and sunset from Piazza Michaelangelo. Plan on 20,000 steps a day.

Lovely city with lots of bustle. Lots of traffic like the rest of Italy, but walkable. Beautiful views from the river and lots of shopping and dining options. Great starting point for day trips to Tuscany and the coast as well.
"An amazing place to stay. Very clean and relaxing place to stay. The roof top pool and lounge area was outstanding. The street food in the evening was also a nice touch. "
"Our stay here was excellent! The staff were friendly, and provided excellent recommendations for the city. The room we stayed in and the hotel were very clean and newly renovated. We will be recommending this hotel to anyone traveling to Florence! "
"- I had a great stay at this hostel.
- It is just a 15-minute walk from Florence Santa Maria Novella train station—I had a backpack and a carry-on suitcase, and the walk was very manageable.
- Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- The 6-bed room was clean and spacious enough to comfortably fit three bunk beds. Remember to bring your own padlock, 30 mm.
- Shared bathroom was roomy, and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic.
- Central air conditioning worked well, which made a big difference during the summer heat.
- Since I stayed during the summer, there were quite a few school groups and teenagers around, which made it a bit noisy at times—but it was totally understandable given the season and atmosphere.
- Breakfast was available for a fee and offered a variety of fresh and satisfying options each morning.
- Laundry facilities were very convenient, especially for a longer stay—just make sure to read the instructions carefully before using the machines.
- Storage facility was another big plus: it felt very secure, with each piece of luggage tagged with a numbered ticket. Staff are always present to ensure belongings are only picked up by the rightful owner. Just make sure not to lose your ticket."
