"Arenal observatory lodge have many things to offer! The hiking trails, the views, the accommodation itself. I stayed in the Casona bungalow. Though it has a shared bathroom, it didn’t bother me at all. I actually think it has the best location within the property. It is facing the arenal lake and just on the left side is the volcano. "I really wanted to give this property 5 stars but I had to take one off simply because the rooms, at least our room, was very outdated and the bed extremely uncomfortable. I will say that the views from this property are breathtaking and we were in love! It is a short walk to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The food at the restaurant was also quite good! My only disappointment was the room condition and bed. Otherwise, wonderful property! "

"We enjoyed the restaurant and the surounding areas. It’s nice if you want to get some light hiking in while other members of your family relax. We saw lots of wildlife. It’s in the forest so you will get bugs in your room if you take food to your room."

"This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some."

"This community of small Villas was perfect for our stay. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were very helpful and kind. The location was very convenient, being next to a supermarket and a 10 minute walk from the local beach. The rooms are not luxury, but nice for this price and they have everything you need.
