"This is a ‘vintage boutique’ hotel. We booked it for the location as it is walking distance from Lincoln Center which we were attending a performance at. Location was WONDERFUL. However, we are not ‘vintage’ hotel people. The hotel is very old and the rooms are VERY small. TINY bathroom, a closet that wasn’t really a closet but rather an area behind a curtain over the safe. VERY noisy from the outside as well. The decor is very old, I think from when it was built. All in all, WE were not happy there and were SO happy to leave and check into our next hotel which was a WESTIN and MUCH more what we’re used to and prefer. If you like the feel of ‘old New York’ and enjoy ‘vintage’, then the Empire Hotel would be perfect. Sadly, we do NOT and are much happier in a modern hotel with the larger room and bathroom and all the contemporary ammenities that we have grown used to. However, the staff was very nice and the hotel was clean."

"Room was clean. Nice people. Wi-Fi was good. The only thing was the entrance door didn't isolate the noise from others rooms almost at all. I was able to hear everything in the hotel. It'd be great if they change the doors. Also, bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. "

"great place to stay! The location is perfect — close to great food, Times Square, and tons of shows. We had two queen studio apartments and they worked out really well. The view was nice, and my bathroom had been recently remodeled which was a great bonus. The only small downside was that it was warm the first day we arrived and the room doesn’t have AC, so it felt a little hot at first. Luckily, the building is in a great spot to crack the windows and once we did, the breeze cooled the room down quickly. The staff was also very friendly from the moment we arrived, which made the stay even better."

"I reserved city view and I was far from seeing “city” as looking out the window, we were surrounded by other buildings that you can see inside. Bathtub was rusted. And was not properly cleaned as there was hair. It is not soundproof as you can hear the people in the hall and the next room as if they were inside your room. All I can say is false advertisement. Lobby was beautiful but beyond that, not what I was expecting as 1 night was pricey. "
