Noisy, noisy, noisy
So noisy that I left early, not at all relaxing. Motorbike noise down both sides of the hotel, music pumping through the walls. The rooms with pools are adjacent to roads so instead of a tranquil space, they feel exposed to traffic noise at all hours.

Absolutely incredible hotel with beautiful staff and an amazing restaurant! The pool doesn’t get too much sun during the day but really close to the beach and the lawn to chill in the sun by the pool :)

The Slow is absolutely beautiful! The attention to detail in the design of the hotel is truly amazing! The staff is always very nice and helpful! They will give you recommendations at any time! Music is great, and room is so beautiful that you don’t feel bad spending extra time in it! It is a bit noisy to sleep but I think that’s the case for any and every hotel in Canggu. Area is very easy to get around quickly without getting lost. Lots of great restaurants nearby!

We thought The Slow was about quiet and relaxation. The decor and size of the suite is great, loved it. But it’s not quiet. We were there on a Saturday night and there was DJ playing in the bar til 11am heard clearly from our room. We were woken early by bikes, voices in the side driveway. It’s right on the main road which is good for walking to the beach, restaurants etc. Not sure why they have no TV or radio in the rooms, just their Chanel of tunes which won’t be loved by everyone. The pool was lovely in our suite but freezing cold so we didn’t use it as much as we would have liked. We also found the bed uncomfortable. Overall, it’s not what we expected.

The decor of the hotel was really really cool and chic - simple but modern while maintaining elements of island vibes. The staff were really warm and friendly, and always happy to help where they can. The restaurant at the hotel was really nice, although a tad on the pricey-side for Bali, but still reasonable. Definitely worth checking!

The Slow staff were amazing and made the stay that much better. As the hotel only has 12 rooms they all know you personally by name and do anything they can to make your stay better. We stayed in both the regular suite room and room with a pool. Would definitely recommend staying here if in Canggu.

Great vibe and altogether a very cool space in a good location. I stayed in a pool suite, Room 2 - loved the design and furnishings. Pool area doesn't get a lot of sun which suits some but I would have liked to at least have the option for a bit more (without having to go to the beach!). Loved the furnishings and artwork. Food is good but there are many good food options in Canggu (and nearby Seminyak), and I found the service to be lacking. Either overly attentive or I'd have to flag someone down. I think there are better breakfast/brunch options around, and at dinner I felt like I was being hurried.

You feel like a rock star staying at this hotel. Everything is like the pictures. There are trendy people coming and going to the restaurant and you feel special walking past them to go to an actual room. We received welcome drinks on arrival, which is normal in Bali, but they are in these cool pint-of-liquor looking glasses. You might think the service at such a cool hotel would be drab compared to that at a resort, but it was just as great. They would offer to clean the room twice a day, spray for mosquitos, book taxi's. One of the restaurant staff members even offered to hold our fussy 3-month-old while we ate dinner. Canggu is certainly filled with cheaper hotels and even hostels to cater to the partying surfer types, but if you want to stay at a swanky and trendy hotel, this is the place.

Only Stayed One Night. This Is A Lovely Hotel. Rooms Are Large And The Daycor Was Beautiful. The Restaurant Meals Were Delicious. Over All Review. Just About Perfect. My Only Small Compliant Was The Hotel is On The Main Road To The Beach. A little Noisy At Night. But No Real Reflection To The Hotel. Would Recommend At Stay.

Beautifully appointed, modern and sophisticated .
The Slow is in an up and coming location but the area still retains a little of the old Bali which is nice. The modern and casual feel was a perfect match for beachside Caggnu, and the food there was the best we ate during our stay . The staff were all so so lovely and so eager to attend to anything we may have needed. Their happy faces and cheerful personalities were a welcome change.

This is the first time I am bothering to write a review for a hotel that I've stayed at, because The Slow deserve a glowing review. Absolutely loved the room and the service was stellar too. Celebrated my friend's birthday and they were really sweet - the team prepared a bouquet of flowers, handwritten card and even came up to our room to sing a birthday song with a cake for us. The staff chatted with us each time they saw us, and they even remembered the little details e.g. we went snorkelling 2 days before and one of the staff asked us how was snorkelling 2 days after - which we thought was very sweet of them.

Comfort and everything you need!
From the front, it looks like a chic simple restaurant/hotel with a chill vibe. We weren't expecting much but when we opened the door to our Pool Suite, boy, were we surprised! The room was well designed, simple yet luxurious, spacious yet cosy. It was incredibly true to the photos online. The pool looked very clean and well maintained and we liked the idea that they do not have a television, but instead have an in-room music system playing relaxing music 24/7 (which you have the often of adjusting the volume or turning it off). Place was pretty much perfect. If I had to nitpick, would be that the corners in the showers look like it needed a lot of cleaning. And as much as the bedsheets were comfortable and smelt nice, it was listed as a King bed, but its actually a KING SIZED bed made up of 2 twin beds and the problem is that you can clearly feel the protrusion in the middle where they are joined.

Great stay at The Slow
Gorgeously designed hotel in a great area. Would recommend for couples or friends, but probably not ideal for families. There were a couple of things that could have been better. For example, there's no coffee maker in the room, so if you like coffee or tea in the morning, you'll have to order it from the bar (approx. $10 for two coffees). They'll bring it into the room, which is better than having to go pick it up, but since they don't provide any robes in the room either, at least one of you will have to get up and get dressed to accept the coffee (they don't just hand it over through the door -- there's a whole set up that comes with the coffee, so they come in the room). There's also no place other than your room to just casually chill if you want to hang at the hotel (like by a pool or in a garden). They do have a restaurant area with some couches/benches, but since it's a public area, it's usually pretty crowded with people who want to have breakfast/lunch/dinner at The Slow or otherwise just hang. It's also VERY TRENDY, so expect everyone to be fully done up and looking gorgeous at all times ;)

Honeymoon in Canggu
We came to The Slow after our Wedding to chill in Canggu for a couple of days. The location is great, as is the aesthetic and styling of the hotel and rooms. Our stay was pleasant bar a few things: - Our room was not sound proof and we could hear noisy patrons in the gallery until about 10pm at night. We chose to go out to get away from the noise. - Even though it was super hot, our pool was freezing cold. I couldn't bring myself to swim in it, which was a shame and a waste of booking a room with a private pool. - Even though the hotel is relatively new, the silicon seal in our shower was leaking, resulting in a huge pool of water in our bathroom everytime we took a shower. Super annoying and even though we brought it to the attention of the staff, they didn't seem to care much about it. - We booked a cab through the hotel and were told it would cost 350k - the staff assured us they knew where we were going (knew the resort). When we got there the driver asked us for 500k. We called The Slow to ask what happened and they told us they didn't confirm the price they quoted us so we had to pay. If the hotel worked on a few of these issues we would happily come back and give this place another shot. For the price tag we experienced better hospitality in Bali so we were expecting a bit more.

Service was wonderful, staff would always great us warmly by our names... the hotel staff provided us with a WhatsApp number upon check in to assist with any enquiries and their response was prompt The room was spacious and extremely comfortable, far exceeding our expectations. The hotel was within walking distance to the beach and plenty of cafes which made the stay so much more enjoyable... great job guys, we will definitely be back!

Rooms are beautiful but there's no pool. The linen has a super distinct odour and sometimes the rooms smell weird. Staff try their best but it feels like maybe they need a bit more attention to detail. You have no control of the music and they don't have a dock for your phone so if you like music then definitely bring a bluetooth box. Great location.

My husband and I were in Bali for a month on Honeymoon and we finished off our stay at a The Slow in Canggu. I found the Hotel online and booked it from London! There was a pool Villa available so I booked that. When we got there we were SO happy & just amazed by how cool and creative the place was. Very inspiring if you are a creative / artist! We had an amazing time there and loved staying there for the 5 days that we did. I highly recommend this Hotel and also recommend the piccolo coffee in the morning along with the E-03 orange juice - For dinner we tried the Angus Beef Steak & have never had steak like that in our lives! It was incredible. We even ordered another one before we had finished the first one. Staff are lovely amazing & so very helpful! It's a must stay / visit if you are in the area.

It was amazing. Staff were friendly and polite. They were able to assist with everything that we asked for. Would be better if they offered more amentities for the price we are paying. Didn't know the facial mist, sunblock was chargeable. Ended up having to pay more for it.

Interior design is good - Everything else is bad
Apart from the nice interior design, everything else was bad: - Really noisy, lots of scooters and local cheap motorbikes with no silencer passing by all night long. - Wardrobe is in the toilet which has no ventilation. - Wet clothes don't dry in days as there is no place to hang them. If you will be surfing, don't even think of staying here (unless you want to cultivate some fungus). - Couch and bamboo chair are pure decoration, totally uncomfortable, unusable. - No communal swimming pool. So, it is bed or lingering around Canggu. Good luck with the recommended alternatives (i.e.: Finns) - They claim to have in-room safe that can fit a laptop. Sounds great, however, there is no safe in the rooms. - They also claim to have a desk in the, but I couldn't find it. The same about the garden. - The non-stop music can get to you after a few days as you can hear the music from the corridor in your room and their rule is that the music cannot be stopped. - I found the cocktails extremely sweet, unbalanced. Cool that they have been designed by a bartender from London, but that's about it. - At that price tag, it's a real rip-off. There are much better places in the area. - This place is really not for me. If you are a snob, you'll love it

Small, intimate property well located on Jalan Batu Bolong. The property is heavily focused on a minimalist and polished concrete design with a Palm Springs meets Canggu vibe, pretty top quality decor, bedding, bathroom products. You can tell they have invested alot of time and money to put this place together You're only a 5 minute walk to one of the cleaner beaches in South Bali and very close to great food and beverage options. Food options outside The Slow are super close. The hotel restaurant that is good for those looking for a balanced, healthy menu. I stayed in a Pool Suite which are on the ground floor which has a small plunge pool off the large 60sqm room. The pool got some afternoon sun but probably not ideal if you are wanting to spend your time tanning. Request Room numbers two or three to avoid some of the noise from the restaurant at night. Staff are exceptional, friendly and courteous but not too in your face which can be common in Asia. You have the option to request services via Whatsapp which was a cool concept. Note that there is no common pool but the beach is less than a five minute walk. If you are looking for a pool vibe then this place probably isn't for you but if you want a barefoot luxury style small hotel with great food and exceptional food then this is for you. I found this as a perfect base to go and explore the area and a great place to come back and chillax after a day surfing, a new concept for Canggu and highly recommended.

Stylish hotel in the heart of hippy Canggu
Hotel is new and stylish, making it a very a generally comfortable stay. The bed is a little hard for my liking but this may be my personal preference. As it is still new, we found basic amenities we'd expect from a hotel to be missing such as iron and safe. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Stayed at room 1 and it was just next to the dining area. Try to avoid this room as it gets noisy usually on friday and saturday night.

Amazing, just amazing. If I would say one negative thing it would be that the food and the drinks are too good so you don't really wanna go to another place in Canggu...everything on the menu was soo amazing. And it's very close to the beach and nice bars etc. Fantastic place.
