I found someone else’s wet dirty closes in the closet along with dirty drinking cups. I found someone’s uses contacts on my pillows and we both wear glasses.It took 3 hours and 3 trips up to the front desk just to get 2 coffee cups that were not put in our room to have morning coffee with!! And the final straw was the cockroach running around inside the bread basket in the dinning hall!!

Check in was a fiasco when 3 rooms out of 6 rooms did not get what was reserved. We all did eventually get our desired rooms however one couple had to pay $$$. Staff around pool was excellent. Teresa, Joel were fantastic! We got to many restaurants and all our food was delicious. Another complaint would be extreme sewer oder some days. I know this is a common issue in many resorts. Beach is nice but this area gets extreme seaweed which we knew before booking.

Food was mediocre for all restaurants but the hideaway restaurant. Room service food came cold. Drinks weren’t the best. Some bartenders seemed to get annoyed when you asked for drinks. Some of the service was good around the resort but all in all wasn’t the best. 2.5 out of 5 for me.

The staff is amazing, kind, friendly and always helpful. Enjoyed delicious meals and drinks. I follow a gluten free diet and the entire property is so accomodating.

This resort is a dump, a total disaster, very unorganized with rude customer service. Customer service is a joke, so clueless. Booked a garden suite, instead I was placed into a room overlook the mangrove and dirt. This resort is no way a four star resort as listed and it's not an adults only, false advertisement. The resort is outdated with older furniture and appliances, definitely needs a make over. Forget about the pool area, not enough cabanas for guests, you have to wake up at 6 AM to get a spot, if arrive after 6 AM you can forget about it. The foods are highly processed, All meals are salty with lot's of preservative, alcohol's are questionable. No organic fruits, juices are full of sugar, anyone can tell they're highly processed. The resort only employed migrants from central America and over worked them. Plenty other resorts to stay in Cancun. Don't believe the pretty pictures.

The Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun is 1 area/building in a large resort. ONLY the Hideaway is adults only. Which includes 1 pool area, 1 restaurant, and a small beach area. The entire rest of the resort, including restaurants will have kids. The diamond club features is also not adult only. If you want a sun lounger on the beach or pool you will need to claim your spot by 7-8am, and you can only leave them unattended for 30 mins according to the rules. The restaurants can be hard to get reservations at, and its best to book them days in advance. All of the food, including the buffet, was very good. The staff is very nice, helpful, and hard working. Romero, our server on the beach/pool was amazing. Overall we had a great time, but in the future will look for a resort that is entirely adult only.

Rooms smelled awful. If you book this hotel, don’t use the third party sites as they have rooms available but refuse to give them to you. I looked at the screen and saw they had double bed rooms but they told me they only had single king beds so I had to share a bed when I booked well in advance for a double.
