"We were made to feel welcomed from the moment we arrived and were pampered with excellent and very accommodating service throughout our stay.
For the likes of us it was expensive but worth every penny."

Even when we had a teeny issue with our meal, they apologised, sorted & kept ensuring the rest of our meals / stay were as we would expect.

I had a lovely stay this weekend at The Retreat. I was expecting a single room as I was a solo traveller but was pleasantly surprised that it was in fact a double bed with a very large ensuite (both a shower and bath). The room was a pleasant temperature, with only slight noise from the road (I had the window open for fresh air but at night the traffic is limited anyway so not an issue). There were tea and coffee facilities and shampoo/shower gel available. The room is accessed via a key code...

Our stay was very pleasant. Exceptionally friendly staff, particularly Sarah, who always went above and beyond to satisfy our every need Bedroom was a tad small.
Food was excellent, with a really good variety to choose from.
Breakfast in the Pullman was very different and most enjoyable.
Will definitely stay there again.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming and contactable at all times, the accommodation was clean and very comfortable, everything we needed was in the room.
There was plenty to choose from for breakfast whether hot or cold and all hot food was cooked to order.
I would highly recommend this guest house and would definitely stay again.

Lovely spacious comfortable room, very clean and beautifully quiet. Tea and coffee supplies locally sourced where possible as were a lot of items on the menu. Attentive lovely staff, who know how to be in stealth mode and not interrupt while you’re in full swing of conversation. Service was amazing from the moment we stepped inside.
We had a drink in the bar before we went out, and we both said we wished we were staying at the hotel for dinner as the service was brilliant. The personal touch made a huge difference.
The room was to the highest standard and certainly did not disappoint.
Only reservation and this is scraping the barrel, however I hope they can be helpful to someone:
