"Beautiful old road side inn with rooms.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Rooms well appointed and breakfast delicious.
WiFi didn’t work which given the expensive price point was disappointing. "
"Great position in The New Forest; train station and bike hire less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. Nice light airy room and great to have allocated parking spot. "

We did a treasure trail round the village so found out loads of history about it. Short drive to Bolderwood to see the deer and lots of ponies

We know it well as used to live there. It is more busy now with a constant stream of cars going past the hotel. However beautiful forest trails are still untouched and it's delightful to see the animals roaming freely. A chance to see the deer close.

Really lovely village, ideal if you like to explore the surrounding area or simply relax.
"Beautiful harbour-side hotel with lovely views. Excellent spa.
My only niggle is that the architect over-complicated the lighting system. Our room had 9 light switches (excluding the one for the bathroom) and it was impossible for us to turn off the dimmed light in the entrance hall area - no matter what switch combo we tried. My son and his gf had the same issue in their room. "
"Great experience staying here. The staff were so nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable. There’s a small store nearby for some necessities, and more extensive shopping is just a 15-minute walk mostly through a park. We ate at least one meal there each day, and the food was very good. All in all, a very nice place. We would definitely stay there again."
"We’ve stayed here numerous times, it’s our go to place to stay in Bournemouth. Value for money. The rooms are basic but clean and with free parking. It’s a leisurely 20 minute stroll to the main shopping centre/beach/gardens.
We finally got to use the pool on this visit! Was lovely to check out but still use the pool before we actually left. Thank you! "
"The room was fine. Pity about the floorboards of the room above creaking when anyone walked around. The bed was slightly too saggy, but everything else was fine. Breakfast was filling, but I would have preferred scrambled rather than fried eggs, and a changing menu. The pool/spa was nice but ageing, and it gets used to teach kids swimming at times, so may not be available. Still, it was good for the price and it's in a nice location."
