"Noisy extractor fan and floor boards"

"Had a 3 day stay at this lovely hotel / pub in the heart of Frome. We upgraded to a balcony room and were not disappointed - the room was huge and even better it came with a lovely big bath tub and a super king size bed!! Considering the size of the room, the balcony, huge comfortable bed, and secure parking we thought it was a really good price - much less than some of the other places to stay in the town. I am told the breakfast was excellent (I preferred a lie-in) by my partner. All in all very satisfied!! Frome was also a lovely place to visit for a couple of days!"

"Have just enjoyed a fantastic stay in a 6 berth caravan. Really clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Large TV in the lounge area. Amenities on site are great and particularly enjoyed the well equipped gym and the sauna and jacuzzi. The cycle routes in the area are also amazing and I am looking forward to returning in the near future."

"Simply cannot say enough good things about the George and the staff there! A wonderful old building so there are some oddly shaped corridors as you'd expect but they only add charm to what is already a fabulous location and venue. The room was clean, comfortable and I felt right at home the moment I got there. All the facilities you can expect in a hotel room. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean. The bathroom was clean and well put together given the limited space available. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and there was no shortage of options to suit everyone. I had the eggs benedict and felt set up and ready for the day ahead. But most of all the staff were exceptional. All were friendly, helpful and really easy to approach with queries. In particular they went out of their way to help me, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this place to anyone and would be happy to come again!"

"We recently stayed at Gray Manor Hotel, and while the reception team was friendly and welcoming, the property itself is significantly run down and poorly maintained. The grounds are highly neglected, cluttered with dilapidated sheds, and covered in rubbish. Inside the room, the lifted laminate flooring was a genuine safety hazard. Furthermore, the room was incredibly hot with only a loud mini fan provided, and a constant, heavy mechanical noise from a pump ran all night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. The Wi-Fi was also highly unreliable, and the TV would not connect to any network. While the staff is doing their best, the hotel requires urgent attention regarding basic maintenance, safety, and hygiene. We ultimately had to check out early due to these conditions."

"One of our rooms was very hot and loud because it’s near the extraction fan from the restaurant. Another room where my parents stayed, the heating was on (during a May heat wave) and the tap/showering water was boiling hot with no cold running at all. The staff came to check, said there are no spare rooms to switch to because of the bank holiday weekend. They called the manager, promised to give me an answer, but then I saw ran to her car and never showed again. I asked another staff member. They called the manager and said they will give me partial refund and discount for breakfast, but I will need to wait until 9am tomorrow for the manager to come. We waited until 11am and the manager never showed up. I left my number to ask them to call me. No returned call. I have asked agent to follow up with them. Again, 1st they said they will refund, but need to wait the manager to sign off. I just received message that this hotel refused to refund. They charged double their usual rate and they provided little to no service, no management and poor living conditions."
