"Very nice couldn’t fault the hotel "

"The property is in an excellent position as it's only a short walk to the shopping centre, bars & restaurants. It has a multistorey carpark with an entrance close to the hotel entrance. The hotel is very well presented in the bar & reception areas. The breakfast area was excellent with very good service from the staff. The twin room we had was a good size & very clean. The room & bathroom are getting close to needing refurbishment but are perfectly funtional if you are not looking for extra luxuries like toiletries etc. I would stay here again as it is perfectly placed for a visit to the Skydome to watch my team play ice hockey."

"Great welcome on arrival, quick and efficient check-in, Nice and clean room. Remote for heating control bit tricky. Breakfast what i expected to see, cooked breakfast hot, chef made my bacon crispy. Staff friendly Would stay here again."

"The Whateley Hotel was extremely likeable, with just a few areas where it needs tidying ie re decoration touch up in bedroom and corridors, however workmen were seen painting etc. The bathroom was great with up to date white goods, broken sink plug chain though let it down, however extremely clean. The double bed was large and very comfortable. Good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Lovely view of garden from room 50, well kept garden. We enjoyed a nice meal in the Berkley Restaurant, friendly attentive staff. A very good buffet breakfast, ample choices, the pastries were very hard though. All staff in the hotel were friendly and accommodating. All in all a pleasant and enjoyable stay, and excellent value for money and would definitely stay again."

"My husband and I stayed for one night, as I've always wanted to stay here, and it was in a convenient location to an event we needed to attend the following morning. I love how this hotel gives castle vibes. Beautiful and unique one-of-a-kind artwork, artifacts, and decor all over the place. It's fun just to spend a little time walking around the grounds, the lobby, and the outside of the buildings, looking at All of its grandeur. The room itself had very old fashioned vibes. This was both good and not so good. Nice in the sense that you feel you're being transported back in time to a hundred years ago... But I think unfortunately some of the cloth wallpaper and pictures of the wall had seen better days. It was a very romantic room nonetheless. They bathroom did need a lock of miuld proof paint though. The hallways all needed new carpets. Both the stairs and outside the rooms. Probably good if they got something which doesn't show stains easily, but still fits the decor. The shining jewel was the restaurant and bar. Really nice drinks selection, both with and without alcohol. The bar and restaurant food menu selections were really amazing, and all of the food we are was superb! Service was excellent too. Dining room was beautiful both day and night! The outside grounds are truly unique and very enjoyable. Although we unfortunately arrived a bit too late to take everything in on this trip, one can always visit another day. All in all great experience. Just need TLC. "

"Great welcome at reception. Accessible room allocated as requested. In my opinion, there is a design flaw in the bathroom, as the 'accessible' toilet is positioned too low to be accessible and is too close to the hand basin. The shower was more of a trickle than a shower, albeit hot, and I've had worse showers, so it's not worth complaining about, just an observation. We ate at the restaurant in the evening - a very pleasant experience with attentive staff. Sadly, the same could not be said about breakfast. A few staff members mingling about, not offering hot beverages. You had to 'flag them down' and wait for hot drinks. I noted several tables waiting, and it wasn't overly busy. Tables weren't wiped down in between customers, cutlery was just rearranged, and the idea of a large jug of milk left on tables for subsequent customers is just not nice and possibly unhygienic. The English breakfast food was hot except for the scrambled egg, which was supplied in such vast quantities that it inevitably became cold quickly. All in all such a shame after a very positive experience the evening before."

"Was over for a wedding at nearby Dodford. Well located and more budget friendly. Despite this, amenities are great. Good pool and gym in separate building, nice lounge. Drinks on the expensive side, but food fair for the standard. Main reason for very favourable review was the staff, who were accommodating, friendly and wanting to please. Would return if in the area"
