"The staff was great. Location is close to the airport with easy airport shuttle. There is not much around so you’re basically reliant on the hotel. The rooms are small but adequate. The shower water pressure was great. The breakfast buffet was very good and easy. The hotel is showing a bit of age but would stay there again if needed. "

"The Southern Sun O. R. Tambo Hotel was a home away from home for us. We stayed there one day at the beginning of our trip to South Africa and for three days at the end. The hotel staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The hotel is very clean and well-appointed. The breakfast is amazing! And the restaurant was excellent for lunch and dinner as well. The best thing about the hotel was the staff -- they helped us with every request with a smile, whether it was large or small. I would definitely stay there again."

"We stayed at this hotel for three days as a family, and unfortunately the experience did not meet our expectations, especially considering the very high cost. First, the price is extremely elevated for a property that does not have a swimming pool. Additionally, charging such a high rate during a period when the hotel offers no leisure facilities feels unjustified. There was no restaurant, no spa, and no leisure services available — which were precisely the features that attracted us to this place in the first place. Another major disappointment was the lack of room cleaning service on Sundays. We were forced to stay in an unserviced room, with no housekeeping or room service, which is particularly inconvenient when traveling with a child. What made this more frustrating is that the booking application did not clearly disclose these limitations. The hotel description indicated that there was a restaurant, a spa, and room service available, which influenced our decision. Had we known that these services were not operating, we would have made a different choice. The breakfast was also very basic — essentially a self-service setup with purchased items that guests had to serve themselves. While acceptable in some contexts, it does not align with the premium price charged. "
