“Perfect budget hotel!”

Stayed 5 nights in a Queen double - not exactly loads of excess room but then it is called Pod! Very clean all around, still has a new feeling. Daily maid service fully cleaned our bathroom, replaced towels, and straightened our bed. Very powerful spacious shower with hot water, and very quick to heat, and/or cool, AC. Front desk staff very polite and helpful. They also have a valet style bag storage if you're flying later than the 12pm checkout - felt very secure. As a bonus there is a bar that serves cocktails and Mexican snacks attached to the ground floor, very handy for grabbing a quick drink or bite. 5 min walk from Central Station, great for catching subway. And some fab breakfast spots along the way, particularly Blooms Diner & Zucker's Bagel shop.

“Brilliant little find. Super tacos and rooftop bar”

Super hotel, great location, good value for money, really charming staff and funky rooms. You can moan that the rooms are small but don't. That's the point! Ups: the brilliant rooftop bar, amazing tacos downstairs, room decor and funky German style wetroom. It's also very quiet given the location and the fact there's a rooftop bar open all hours. Downs: the room heating is useless. Blows a gale and very noisy or off and cold. Breakfast is limited and the back room is very dark. Wonder why they don't open the front taco bar in the morning? That being said, there are a million breakfast options close by. My back facing room was also very dismal in terms of natural light but it was as silent as a church mouse and virtually opposite the elevator too.

“An excellent value central hotel”

I stayed here for one night en route to another city. The hotel has opened recently I think and the interiors were clean and fresh with contemporary fittings to a high specification. Attention has been paid to the design of the rooms: although compact, mine didn't seem small. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a frosted glass wall, which was fine for me on my own, but maybe not ideal for friends sharing or new couples. The hotel was in a great location for getting to Penn Station (about 20 mins walk). A really great basic hotel for stopovers.

“Great for city visit”

This hotel has a great location on a quiet street ,that is only a few blocks from Grand Central Station.Near the hotel are plenty of coffee shops and places to eat,at realistic prices. The rooms are really great, very well designed and furnished. The beds in particular are very comfortable and the rooms are very well soundproofed,so you not hear any sounds from outside or other rooms.

“Must stay place for budget travellers”

I spent four nights in NYC in a single room by myself. the room was compact but had everything you would need. It was clean and comfortable and a great price. Location was great 2 blocks from the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Station. 5 blocks from Fifth Avenue and Times Square. close to cafes, bars and restaurants. Subways which take you to Brooklyn Bridge and Staten Island ferry close by. The staff were amazing. The bar staff, receptionists and chambermaids were friendly and helpful. I didn't know what to expect traveling to NYC by myself but I felt safe and happy staying at pod 39. you must check out the rooftop bar it has a great view of the empire state building. I had a fantastic experience fantastic. I recommend staying here if you are on a budget but don't want to compromise on location, cleanliness, style and comfort.

“Great hotel on a budget”

The room was small but paying what we did that was not a problem. Great for couples, as there is a frost door looking onto the bathroom so maybe a little embarrassing with a friend. The roof deck bar opened on our final night, the views were stunning. Good location to, only few blocks from Times Square. The hotel was still under works but I guess its is finishing soon, but did not effect our stay. The wi-fi was very useful, with a small tv in our room. A great hotel for anyone with a budget but still likes a modern, clean and good location. We will be back.

“Great pad in the heart of NYC”

Great location with view of Empire State Building from the front. Close to Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal. Scotty's Diner is just up the road on Lexington Ave and 39th and did great breakfasts. Hotel proviided coffee and breakfast bars in reception. Free WiFi was great and free phone calls made calling home using a 800 number phone card a breeze. Because the rooms are small the Air Con was blowing down on the bed which made it a bit breezy when sleeping. I turned it off and left the window open on the second night, which was fine given the temperature when I stayed, but not an option most of the time, I'm sure. The hotel took 2 of the 3 Elevators out of service for maintenance late one evening which meant a 15 minute wait to get back to the room at 11pm...not the best Management decision and when the reception staff were challenged they apologised but did not seem to grasp why the customers might be anoyed at such a situaton - given there are 17ish floors, taking the stairs was not necessarily an option! Overall, a great hotel to stay in located in the heart of mid-town Manhattan. The concierge was very helpful in explaining about Tour Bus options. Room was well thought out with plenty of storage under the bed so no issues with the size of the room overall. The bathroom only has a two-thirds height frosted privacy panel, so expect who is sharing the room to see what's going on in certain circumstances! The bar was still being built, but everything else was OK
