“Monsoon package...”

Most comfortable stay. Lovely rooms. Large and well appointed. Service was very good. Makes such a difference to have smiling people around you. However the first look is a bare and a spartan impression of the foyer. Maybe a few well arranged bits of furniture and artifacts could change it. The food is good but expensive with hidden charges. Beware! They could attract more people to their dining halls if it was more reasonable. Taxis to and from the hotels are also rather expensive. Fortunately scooter hire is just around the corner and works wonders to your mobility and fun. 250Rs. a day is a steal. Taxis take 700Rs. for 10 km one way. A wonderful package - take it!!

excellent property, cozy rooms, good ambience, great breakfast ( veg varieties)good pool everything was good. Food from restaurant on the costlier side. Courtious / responsive staff excellent for stay for any age of traveller. If you are with your own vechile, it is a big advantage as the property is quite isolated from main road. “Good for families”

This is an excellent and peaceful hotel. We had two kids, age 8 and age 13, and they enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. The nearest beach is a bit difficult to walk to so instead we took the free shuttle to Zuri White Sands hotel. There they have children's activities, amazing restaurants, wonderful pools and a nearby beach that is an easy walk from the resort. In the end, we think that staying at this hotel is fine, but that if there's any way you can splurge and afford the higher price of the sister hotel, Zuri White Sands, you should do it! You won't regret it. (Also, we do wish the Retreat at Zuri had told us about the shuttle right away. They did not, and so we did not get as much time at Zuri White Sands as we would have liked.)

“Retreat was a treat”

A great little gem tucked away in a nice rural neighborhood. The Portuguese influenced construction gives you a palacial feeling without the pretention. We were given a suite with a huge sitting area, a great sized bedroom with walk-in closet and two bathrooms. There were two balconies one off the sitting room looking on to the courtyard and the other off the bedroom with a nice view of the rural area. Lots of natural light. The hotel grounds are kept immaculate by the hard-working maintenance people. The hotel staff was totally professional and eager to serve and please. The food was good but not outstanding. If you're looking for a party place with lots of people, look elsewhere. If you want a nice quiet get away this is your selection. The amenites are limited but they offer a shuttle to another Zurri property nearby that is much bigger with a lot more to do and easy access to the beach. I would highly recommend The Retreat and would go back in a heartbeat.

1)selective n aesthetically done interiors not just at the lobby but in the room too. 2)service at the reception quite prompt n polite at check-in and check out 3)superb breakfast...we just became fan of the breakfast and though it was buffet breakfast still service was given promptly-proactively-politely 4)dinner/meals we found slightly sluggishly served but taste wise it was nice 5)at certain properties just the overall aura is pleasing...zuri definitely suits in that catagory

“Loved our stay at the RETREAT”

We spent 5 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our room was a treat and made the vacation very memorable. Service was good and prompt most of the time. Hotel ambiance was spectacular. VARCA beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and is very beautiful and remote. Additionally the folks at the RETREAT also arrange a free ride to take you to the WHITE SANDS partner resort that has an even more amazing beach and resort experience. All said we loved the ZURI experience and will be back for more. The only gripe would be about the hotel restaurant - did not like the food. The hotel presents just one dining option during the off season period - and this is definitely a problem when the place is as secluded as the RETREAT. We loved the solitude and peace, but there were really no other places to eat near the hotel - so be prepared! We had to go to the WHITE SANDS for decent dinner options. We enjoyed a fine dining experience at the SAKE, WHITE SANDS - fine oriental cuisine, pleasing ambiance and courteous staff make you feel really pampered. If you want a peaceful vacation without the crowd the RETREAT would come from us as highly recommended.

it was a nice experience with retreat by zuri... hotel is having a 5 star ambience and we enjoyed a lot.. also at a good budget.. we recommend this hotel for family stay or get together party

“Extremely good interiors, ok service”

So, firstly amazing place near the beach, perfect for a 3-4 day getaway. Romantic interiors. Free shuttle to the beach and the Zuri White Sands swimming pool (which is way more scenic that the swimming pool of Zuri Retreat)!. Downside is that the Quality of the hotel is going down, as the exteriors are not being maintained. Also, the service is poor, and the hotel staff (including waiters) are not trained to be either responsive or patient. The location, though near the scenic beach, is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of town. So transport will be inconvenient. If you're a couple on a restricted budget, consider hiring 2 wheelers for the duration of your stay. The additional services at the hotel (Transport/Tourist services/Drinks) are not worth the money. The food, however, is reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel. I was very satisfied as its a beautiful, romantic place at a budget price, and I dint have much need for room service ;P

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. You can use the free shuttle to the Zuri White Sands if you want to laze on the beach.

“Excellent value for money”

We stayed at the Retreat by Zuri in November 2010 for about a week. The staff were super-friendly and helpful, the hotel facilities were great value for money, and while the hotel was out in the middle of nowhere, it was exactly where we wanted it to be. The beach was a short scooter-ride (and walk) away, we had access to nearby sister-hotel beach facilities, the surrounding area was safe , serene and peaceful, there was plenty to see in the region, and we had a great time. We would definitely stay at the Retreat by Zuri again, and we have already recommended the hotel to our friends.
