North London Romantic Holidays

Holiday Inn, Kensington High St is a large, well located, very busy hotel a 5-min walk to Kensington High St with lots of shopping, dining & grocery options & great transport links on buses & Circle Line tube station where you can travel/connect all over London, Heathrow airport & overground trains. The hotel staff were extremely friendly & accommodating and cannot be faulted & the amenities, including the gym and spa were outstanding. Unfortunately, a number of maintenance issues negatively impact my stay. From day 1 the room phone didn't work, reported 5 days in a row, resorting to speaking with a manager. No phone meant no access to reception, house-keeping or concierge which was an issue when toilet paper ran out, the tv remote stopped working & light globes blew all of which happened during my first week. I was moved to another room, told it would be ready that evening but as I didn't get in until late, I packed up & moved out the next morning & was then told the new room wasn't available until 4pm so I paid for a room for a day that I couldn't access (no refund or apology). The new room also had issues - the tv had 2 giant white spots in the middle of the screen when turned on Room maintenance clearly needs more attention, especially as this is not a budget hotel. Unfortunately, all the problems added unwanted stress to an already challenging personal reason for my stay in London, not a holiday. Highly recommended BUT room maintenance is urgently needed.
